I am looking for Rice coal in southern maine. The company I have used for the past 3 years is currently $390 a pallet.

Are there better deals out there?

Thanks

I have a contact that has Rice, Buck, Pea, Nut and Stove at 305 a ton, bagged and delivered. Also Supersacks, 15 a ton less. Currently putting together 11 TT loads for early Sept to mid Oct delivery. Bulk available also, at 265 a ton (loader and scales on site)

Need to know where you want it, when, how much. If you want a full TT load yourself, there are additional savings. I am sick of seeing the 370 to 390 a ton ripoffs. In West Lebanon, NH, one supplier is charging $13.80 a bag (50 lbs),...$690 a ton............ and that is un-Fudging-believable. Everyone deserves a fair price, whether good times or bad, and surely that kind of gouging is not a good thing for coal users or anyone interested in coal as a fuel source.

I have access to as much availability as is required up in our part of the world, but if you are kicking tires, it may not be as easy as you want it to be. We kick back! Not the first trip to the Rodeo, so please be sensible. I don't do this for the money.
For 38 years I have burned, and if this helps out fellow burners, that is great.
The first question I get is: Where do I get coal? Trucks are on the road 24/7 guys and gals, make a commitment and forget the worry. If you want to make this work for yourself, I am offering to do this. Prepay into a escrow account so the suppliers and truckers are guaranteed to be paid, otherwise, as they say 'Cash talks and Bullship walks'. I have no time to play Santa, and if you are concerned about the coal sources, ask away, but don't get nasty.....I have a sense of humor, but no tolerance for slackers and smartarses.

Thanks for the reply guys.

My coal supplier's pallet is 2400 lbs (60 - 40 lbs bags) $400 delivered which is $330 a ton- sounds like it may not be that bad a price.

I need 3 tons and I am in Windham Maine. I would like to have it the first week of October, or around then.

What is a super sack?

Try Lowe's in North Windham, Maine as a new coal distributor, 207 892 4016 . They sell rice, pea and nut bags $5.99 per bag. the per pallet cost is unclear as it is new item.

Hey guys,

New coal burner here. First year actually.

Anyone have any experience buying from Southern Maine Renewable Fuels? I've been trying to get a delivery for about 2 months and it's August now. I'm more than a little nervous. Firewood has 1000 different people to source from. Coal seems to be extremely scarce up here.

It would be nice to line up a backup to source from. Thanks in advance!

No experience with them. However, last season I ordered from a place in early July and it got delivered in late AUG. Why? They order their stock based on June- July orders placed (they have none in June, July). Once they get theirs, I got mine shortly afterwards.

So the company you ordered from might be the same. I like to get my coal before the rains come to keep the product dry.

I see they have a fuel calc too ..

When did you order ? What was $/ton ? What was delivery cost ? Currently its $499 a ton - ouch.
