Let's hear your plan, Mr. Know-it-all .... :blah:

Seems most on this forum exercise a forgotten muscle in the brain ... aka. COMMON SENSE ... unlike most running the country today. If the *censored* hits the fan in society, I can bet 10 to 1 that 99% of those on this forum will keep on living, while the rest descend into chaos ... or become a victim of it.

One thing I can't understand is something I've heard mentioned on the forum by self proclaimed libs prior: that they own, & use guns.

How can you support, & call yourself a card-carrying member, of a party that tramples the Second Amendment of the Constitution every chance they get? If your liberal, you don't believe in the Second Amendment - that is reflected by the voting records of liberal politicians across the nation. If your conservative - like the NRA is - then you fight for those rights.

You libs give me a headache. I've given up trying to figure you out .....

Women & liberals. Someone needs to write a book! :bang:

I'll take a shot at your gun question Smitty, your second amendment is still in tack, there have been some on both sides that have tried to change that but I will say that lately it's been mostly Dems.. I used to belong to the NRA, the NRA only fights for the NRA. I'm 64 years old & have never had a party or politician on any level vote the way I would like on every issue, that only happens in Leave it to Beaver Land or if your not smart enough to be able to form your own opinion & in that case you have talking heads to tell you what your opinion is. Get real, a politician or political group that looks out for you, thats a good one.

Things get out of hand occasionally around here but I don't allow personal attacks and that would include the forum as whole. Keep your personal comments to yourself.

personal attacks ehh?? all I read on this site is bad liberal this, and bad liberal that, liberals destroying the country. I thought this was a coal forum, not an extension of FOX can't even call it news. I get on here to read about residential coal burning, not radical, un proven, usually wrong statements about the president that some seem to hate. just let me know/ is this a right wing political discussion group, if so, fine, I will tune it out. went through this earlier this year. signing off.

Yes when you insult the entire forum it's a personal attack. If you want to discuss things no matter what they are you're more than welcome to voice your opinion as long as it's not personal and that applies to anyone, I don't care if you're red, blue or purple.... I'm not going to have situation where someone is attacking people on a personal level, it's disruptive and leads no where. As far as the demographics go I have no control over who uses coal but you are correct it's overwhelmingly conservative.

Are you a Democrat or Republican? Redux

That's all I have to say, back to the topic. If you want to discuss this some more send me a PM.

Obviously no one here has heard the news... Nobody read the news paper? Or did you just skip the obituary section? Anyway, here it is out of the London Times...

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has
been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since
his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be
remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

- Knowing when to come in out of the rain;
- Why the early bird gets the worm;
- Life isn't always fair;
- and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more
than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in
charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6-year-old boy
charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended
from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job
that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly
children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get parental
consent to administer sun lotion or an aspirin to a student; but could not
inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an
abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses; and
criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a
burglar in your own home, and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her
lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death, by his parents, Truth and Trust, by
his wife, Discretion, by his daughter, Responsibility, and by his son,
Reason.

He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers:

I Know My Rights
I Want It Now
Someone Else Is To Blame
I'm A Victim

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you
still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do
nothing.

If there was ever a time for reincarnation it is now, hopefully Common Sense's demise is just another unfounded rumor & he is actually in hiding & waiting to jump out & slap sense into most.

If you think the liberal position is correct you are perfectly free to defend it. Samhill does a pretty good job of it and has even made me more careful in answering his posts because he is usually good at documenting what he says. He is almost always free from rancor and his core beliefs are sound i.e. he is a decent person with a good heart. A good way to get respect regardless of political belief.

If you feel you can't defend your position without the usual liberal hate speech there are many threads in this forum that concern themselves with stoves and burning coal; just ignore the political subjects as many do.

Because there are many more winter warriors on this forum than summer soldiers it is a good thing that the forum has so many other aspects to keep interest through the summer months. You can get or contribute advice on almost any subject you can think of.

WASHINGTON -- Just when liberals thought it was safe to start identifying themselves as such, an acclaimed, veteran psychiatrist is making the case that the ideology motivating them is actually a mental disorder.

"Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded," says Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, "The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness." "Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave."

While political activists on the other side of the spectrum have made similar observations, Rossiter boasts professional credentials and a life virtually free of activism and links to "the vast right-wing conspiracy."

For more than 35 years he has diagnosed and treated more than 1,500 patients as a board-certified clinical psychiatrist and examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases as a board-certified forensic psychiatrist. He received his medical and psychiatric training at the University of Chicago.

"A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity -- as liberals do," he says. "A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population -- as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation's citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state -- as liberals do."

Pretty hard to respond to such a measured and logical post.

As you are heating professional I am sure we could learn a lot from you, just not in politics. If you truly believe the liberal way is best then why not put your best foot forward. I am sure I would feel a lot better if I could be convinced the road we are on is the best.

"you are real offensive, brainwashed and wrong. shovel a load of coal up yer hopper."

I'm pretty sure this statement is exactly what most think is not appropriate for a discussion of political events.

My point about the EPA is that the government (lead by B. H. Obama) is trying to regulate coal out of existance and it makes me sad :( and mad  and we need to do what we can to save 'our' industry.
And like it or not, most conservative like coal, and most liberals hate coal.
I personally think the liberals hate coal because of the global warming hoax, and other emotional issues that I don't understand.
