Speaking of pets ;) The boys are sure taking advantage of of these last few weeks of nice green pasture. Old man winter's not far down the pike & I'm looking foward to it myself :)

Is it REALLY Sunday night,, darn, I have to leave for work tomorrow morning.. WHERE DID THE TIME GO????

Well I did get a few things done, but nowhere near enough.

I did get to use the back deck for a nice BBQ this afternoon, My Mom will be leaving the cool comfortable north to drive back to the still sweltering, steamy east coast of Florida. She's 83 and still drives it in 2-3 days.

I have about a day's worth of work to do on the AA 260 before I fire her up for the winter, I'll probably wait till November some time to light her off.

But I have to put up some doors or another tarp over the front of the coal building, to keep the freezing rain and snow out of the coal. But we've not had any nights cooler than ~55* so far, I expect 40's at night come October.

Well I've got to pack again, another 5 day trip next week. Tomorrow night down to Puerto Rico, I hope the Tropical storm has moved on.

Another summer project half way done. Dug out a ditch that was almost filled in. It channels water off to the side of my property to keep the main field from getting too wet. I have a home made backhoe I built for this purpose. It comes in very handy. All I need to do now is clean up the dirt before it starts growing grass.

I am a couple days late for Fred's coffee, but I have a mug of my own here.

That is some homemade back hoe steamup! And I thought I was handy.

I will continue laying my fake stone up the hearth wall today. I think I will just enough stone to finish the project.
I still have to cut holes in the ceiling and roof and install the ss chimney pipe for the Hitzer.

I better get going. Time's-a-wastin' :)

I was so busy with that new water heater that I almost forgot to post a new picture of the "little guy". One month old tomorrow, he is really starting to get alert.

well hello everyone this is Art 52 I am no good at typing. Or spelling. So I got this program that types one night talk. Steamed up I do not know what I like more your backhoe or your little steam locomotive. I think they are both very neat. I myself am into old hit Ms. flywheel engines. I am 75 years old and cannot handle the big engines anymore but I do have two models that I have built one from a set of castings and the other out of the junk box :) now I have to learn how to post things in this form. Take care all. Art52

Guess I missed Fred's extra strong coffee .... so seeing that it's after 1am Tuesday morning, may I offer up some 126.9 proof whiskey! :drunk: ... but I might need some of that coffee at sunrise ... ;)

Took a trip to visit my uncle in VT this weekend. Visited the Shelburne Museum - VERY impressive collections there! Stumbled upon a hidden treasure of antique guns manufactured by VT residents between 18 - 1900. Then got to check out the Ticonderoga steam powered paddle boat. There were no less than 6 steam engines on board including the main engine. 2 small engines for the DC generators, one for the coal conveyor, one for the power steering :!: & one for excess condensate from the main engine. Cool stuff! I was so fascinated with the ship, I spent 4 hours on it & didn't take one picture - totally forgot! But I got many pics of antique stoves & the guns on display there. Normally these places aren't my cup of tea, but I was surprised once inside. Plenty there to cover everyone's interests .... even though I counted 5 Priuses in the parking lot ...

VT is still one of the most scenic places in this hellhole we call New England. Wish it was a little further south. I couldn't deal with winter up there, as I can barely deal with it here! They also make great beer. I enjoyed 10 of them in a 3 hour period. I approve.
