Taylor T450 outdoor waterstove price

Does anyone know what would be a fair price for a used Taylor T450 outdoor waterstove that is about 10 years old with no known problems or defects? I am looking to purchase one, the guy is asking $3,250. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

The price you mention sounds high to me for the age.
Three very important things to consider -
1 - how much life doe it have left? It could be on the way out or it could have a few years left on it. Don't count on these type of stoves lasting a long time. How did he care for it?
2 - Why is he selling it? Could be he found out that it isn't very efficient.
3 - Can you install it legally? Check local and state codes. Both NY and PA have strict laws now regarding the installation of OWB's. Many local codes have banned them all together.

I burned wood up until this year. My supplier said his best customers were the people with outdoor wood burners.

Yes, the Town of Chester has banned them unconditionally. One questioner said this was not the time to limit energy choices. Our leader stated that it did not appear to be an issue as nobody had applied for a permit to use one and as far as he knew there were none in operation in Chester. I didn't care as I don't like them either.

I think you are asking for a lot of expense for something that is sure to be a disappointment.

Why not outline your heating problem and I am sure a lot of members here will come up with a lot better solutions.
