HELP!!!! Need help from Ct.PA members.

This year I've decided to bypass the middle man and purchase 20 tons of Rice coal, but in Andover, Ohio, (290 miles away from coal county), can't seem to get a deal on the trucking. One outfit will haul it for $41.00 a ton and I found a crusher for $158 a ton. Any one with any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated.
Dealers please pm me.

$41 a ton is a fair price for the distance and quanity at current diesel prices. You can check around but you probably won't do much better. The best price will be had from a full load truck with the shortest haul. The closest breaker may not have the cheapest price on coal.

I priced 4 or 5 places and they were all within +/- $5 ton delivered.

Your trucking quote is not unreasonable. You might do a little better if you call some local trucking companies in your area and find one that needs a backhaul from NEPA...but it can be tough to find loads for a dump trailer.

Have you tried these folks? They were recommended by forum member "coal berner".
