Tommorow will mark 10 years for 9-11-01,,, I will take some time out tommorow and say a prayer for all those that were lost and for the one's that survived and all the live's that were changed forever. That day in my heart was a very very sad day, I still get angry about it when I think of that day!

I remember 9/11 all too well. That's the day we couldn't find DK for hours after the Pentagon hit and his mom and grandmother were calling every hour for updates. I was blessed and he wasn't in the Pentagon that day having gone to an off site meeting. In the ensuing chaos it took him 5 hours to commute 20 miles. Unfortunately, others didn't find the same blessings. DK was an Army Active Reserve Officer and volunteered for active duty that day. He was gone on the 12th for an 18 month tour. As with so many, our lives changed for ever. I will never forget, God bless everyone, Lisa

You're all amazing people. I can only hope to find the strength and composure to cope with the current world on this anniversary of 9/11. I'm not gonna tell my story about it. I have to ignore all programs about 9/11. I don't want to see images of it if I can help it. It brings me more sorrow. As somebody trying to be a Christian, I have to try and process my outrage and need for revenge. I regret a lot of my political posts, I'm spewing out hatred and I don't think it's gonna convince anybody. I blast Samhill as hard as I can sometimes, and he goes ahead and gives me kind advice about my problems. That means a lot to me. I know he will not forget 9/11, I'll try to be a better man, a better American.

We shall always remember. Forward we go.

Today at sunrise my flag will be fervently raised to full height, then reverently lowered to half mast.

Hi Dan,

You should write down your memories, the good and bad. Yesterday I got an email from a boy I know who was born on Sept 11, 2001 literally after the first building fall and before the second one went down. He was asking for memories of that day so he can put things in context. As I wrote mine I was amazed at the depth of emotion - the anger, the pain, the fear, the overwhelming sadness - that came to the surface. I didn't realize the load I as carrying. Putting the thoughts down on paper didn't change any of that but it did help me focus and understand how I feel on the 10th anniversary just a little more. I didn't send him my original draft, it would have been too much for an 11 year old but I did send a cleaned up version. I, too, can't watch any of the "shows" people have put together with last phone calls or pictures. It's too personal. That doesn't mean I won't be remembering, I'll just do it my own way. You don't have to send it anywhere, but do write your memories down. Lisa

I vividly remember that day. I always will. I'm thankful that everyone I knew made it through safely.

I took this picture last year while leaving from the Port of Bayonne, NJ. Our former enemy #1, the Russians - the one I grew up concerned with, contribute this 9/11 memorial in Bayonne facing the Manhattan skyline. Every time I look at this picture, it makes me realize how thing change with time. So many things change, some for the better, some for the worse.

When you put away all the rhetoric and baloney-slicing away, you come up with the idea that how dare we try to forget or bury this day. I haven't heard if Mayor Bloomberg changed his mind about "not having room" for a couple of Beat Cops and Rank Firefighters to attend the Ceremony today. Any half-decent politician with a conscience and an invite to this event should have simply drove down to any precinct cop shop or station/house and picked up a guy, deliver him through security and have him/her take his place this morning....Ten Years later,in my mind's eye,to not represent the Regular Folks who literally gave their all for Folks they didn't know is beyond unconsciounable(or some damned word like that....R.I.P.-NYPD&FDNY Brothers&Sisters....)
