Hi to all !
I have a used DF 520 that I would like to paint before installing. The base is complete and solid. I had the base sandblasted. I have seen POR-15 mentioned, but I am curious if many of you have successfully used it, or would recommend using it. What other paint systems are commonly used?
Thanks

I have used POR-15 on a number of bases and can say that it works pretty good. I did a boiler for myself 4 or 5 years ago and when I broke it down for sale last spring, there was no rust or corrosion on the inside of the base. It did discolor on the outside. it was easily fixed with a topcoat of hi temp aluminum.

Thanks for the reply. It sounds like the POR 15 held up well on the base for you. I was wondering if it should be top coated due to its sensitivity to UV. From your experience, a top coat over the POR 15 on the outside would be all that is necessary to keep it looking good.
