At least they are not a safety issue so we can rest easy.

Welp .02 cents, got me one of them time of day meters. I went from 200 ish a month to 110 maybe 115. Have had this since February this year. Worked out great for me. Slight change in lifestyle, choosing to do laundry and run dishwasher at night and weekends, but it paid off. I work swing anyway so its not a problem for me.

Yep, I've got a night rate also Anthony NYSEG--no special meter--just on & off peak hrs--I do my laundry once a month ;) after 11:30 PM --before the kid moved back home, I kept my elec hot water on a timer--but God knows that don't work for a 22 yr old woman--my budgeted elec bill is still around $25.00 per month & I always have a plus balance at the end of the year--way to simplistic for many my young friend

Hey, Do any of you have or can get a picture of a smart meter receiver? The power co. put a box on the pole at the end of my yard. Grey with 4 red lens, 3 on the sides and 1 on the bottom and hooked to the service feeds. I have looked around town and have not seen anything like it.

The co-op here installed smart meters several years ago. We don't have to read the meter anymore. I don't care if they track my usage. I can look and see what days we use the dryer though

when we rebuit i installed an entire new electric service...new meter box as well. When the power company came to restore service...they asked where the old meter was (power was off for. about a year...
I asked the if they were gonna use it- but they said "no-but we need it back"
i explained that the house and all utilities were completely gutted...so the old meter was history.
So they installed a Smart meter (they were gonna anyways)...but they actually came back on three seperate ocassions within a week...asking my gf or myself for the other meter-they were serious about getting it back for some reason...
I politely explained to the last tech how difficult it would be for him to drive back to their shop with my boot stuck in his ass if they asked us again...
about two months ago I found it in the basement with a bunch of misc. stuff....oh well.

All i can say is over half of our electric bill is "delivery"......thats b.s.
OVER half!!

MA had this "brilliant" idea of taxing phone and power companies for the land their infrastructure is on ... like poles, and substations. And the sheep rejoiced. What the sheep don't realize is these costs are just passed onto the consumer!!!  HELLO IDIOT MA VOTERS!!!
