Getting ready to shut down today. Last year, I had the company that did the install do the annual maintenance, and to be honest, they did not even vacuum under the grates, I did that myself, along with a couple other items. So I am going to do this on my own this year. I could use some advice and suggestions on what others do with their Koker. So, after brushing and vacuuming thoroughly...

1) The manual suggests an "anti-seizing" agent for the pusher bar. What type/brand of anti-seizing agent do you use? And how do I get to the pusher bar? Seriously, this Koker has been hands-off, so I have not looked for it until now.

2) Also, can I use this same anti-seizing agent on the door hinges?

3) What type of oil should I use on the motor (and direct vent blower?) ?

4) I will be taking apart the SS pipe to the outside, to give it a thorough cleaning. I did not do this last year. How do you clean and store yours?

5) Last year I used Damp-rid and a lamp to keep the system dry and rust-free (in a damp basement) along with running a de-humidifier. Is there a better way to do this? Seems to still have rusted some. I even started the spring last year with a spray that was recommended here, and I'm not sure that really worked.

Anything else I should be noting, considering, remembering to do? Thanks.

I found my answers on the oil and cleaning pipes, some research and tinkering around, so never mind. One exception: no answer on the anti-seizing agent, so I'll do some more looking around before starting up.

My thoughts on the anti-seize on the cooling bar is that it would just collect fines which would eventually start restricting the back & forth movement. That's just my school of thought, mines 5 or 6 years old already & I never did anything except vacuum out real well without any problems. I am thinking about checking out the fabric that acts as a guard & replacing before start up if needed but even when new there was always a lot of fines & chips that eventually get pushed out as well. I'm by far no expert I'm sure as it's getting cooler more informed people will weigh in. ;)
