I am very interested in the process of moving coal by auger automatically. Could one of you show a picture of where the coal comes out? I am understanding the coal bin end, but for my application I would need to have it fill a 55 gallon barrel. Just trying to figure it out before I pay some $$. Great job, I cant wait to see it work. :D

I should add that moving dry coal with this auger makes alot of dust at the output end. I made a hood for my hopper and when I load coal to the hopper I've got a shop vac with a Dust Deputy running at a hole in the hood to collect it. Damp coal no problem.

Thanks for letting me know that. I use a blue barrel that Coal Berner gave me. It has the lid so I would just leave it on. I would like to pull from a bin that will be outside. I hope the coal will dry during the summer months and not freeze in the winter. I will build both the bin and auger at the same time. I would hope by this winter but I'm running out of time. I looked at the auction, do they sell the drive also? How much more were they? I am thinking the 12' would be good enough for my application.

Yea, I bought the whole thing from them. The motor is a 1/2 hp. If the coal is damp it will freeze outside.
