Yesterday, I drove up to DiRenzo with an empty trailer.I was going to go elsewhere but after talking on the phone I decided to try DiRenzo at least once. The procedure is pretty much the same as other breakers.I pulled onto the scale which is beyond the loading chutes and to the right. After weigh in,I was directed to make a "U" turn and pull into the big breaker building under the proper chute. In my case I was interested in straight Buckwheat for the first time.My trailer is rated at only 3500# so I asked not to go over that amount.I was asked if I wanted the coal to be washed as it was being loaded. My wife made me say yes from 57 miles away, can you believe that?? The coal is clean and the sizing is very uniform to my eye.I paid right in the scalehouse for the 3400# and was on my way.I was told by very reliable sources that my little KAA2 will burn buckwheat very nicely so I am very anxious to dial it in and give it a try. The yard is as neat as a pin and the fellow doing the loading could not have been more helpful to a first timer. The drive turned out to be a little shorter which is a further savings. It was a beautiful fall day to enjoy the outing, so how much better can it get?? Mike

This recent cold shot put the boiler and the DiRenzo coal to the test. My low tec un scientific results are that it is some of the good stuff. Burns hot, no excessive ash, minimum fines and fair pricing. I cannot expect more than that and am very happy with it. Mike

Went to Direnzo Coal this morning and picked up 2 ton of their Rice Coal. I must say it was a very nice place run by friendly helpful people, they filled my containers carefully and kept my trailer clean. I paid $170 a ton, I will be back to get more at the Summer prices

I ran up again yesterday and picked up another 2.2 tons. Last Saturday I got 2.8 tons. Great people to deal with. I'll try to post pictures tonight. Dennis

Ok, let's see if I can add pictures. This was from last saturday, 2.8 tons.

I had to remove a 10" cement block to make a chute into the basement.

This is the first time I will be burning there coal so I will keep you posted on how it does( I kept 500# for the indoor bin so there coal is 1st up this season) but from the looks of it I think It's going to be good, I can't say enough on how pleasant it was dealing with Direnzo. The people were nice and friendly, very clean, well run operation and easy loading with the shoots . The price was $160/ton for nut and I ended up with 5280#. Keepaeyeonit

I've burned several tons of their rice coal, very high quality, sized well, and clean, very satisfied. Nice people to deal with too. I plan on making a run out there again in a few weeks.

Made another "road-trip" to Direnzo Coal yesterday and got 1 1/2 tons of rice coal in my 330gal IBC container and another 1 1/4 ton of rice for my neighbor in the box of the 6x12 ft dump trailer I was pulling. As with previous visits it was a pleasure doing business there and I paid the Autumn price of $180 a ton.
The only "Twilight Zone " moment was when I was waxing nostalgic about the summer sale price of $170 a ton that I paid in mid June and one of the owners told me they have never sold rice coal for $170 a ton and that I was mistaken. I thought I was going crazy until I checked the checkbook and that was what I paid on June 15&16th and that was what friends I had sent there paid later in the month for their rice coal so I knew I hadn`t dream`t it.
If you haven`t picked up your rice coal yet better get it now at the $180 a ton price before that price becomes a forgotten memory too.

Thanks for the pics. You just gave me an idea for my Bulk Bags I want to have filled at the breaker. If they can fill the IBC container they can fill my bulk bags as long as I have a frame to hold them open.
