Thanks for the pics. You just gave me an idea for my Bulk Bags I want to have filled at the breaker. If they can fill the IBC container they can fill my bulk bags as long as I have a frame to hold them open.

The guy in front of me had a flat bed trailer and got a bunch of bulk bags filled, I did not see the process of filling but if you call Direnzo (570) 544-4743 and ask to speak to Paul Jr. he could definitely tell you how they do it as he was the guy running the coal chutes yesterday and he filled the bags.

I calculated the ibc 1000 liter (330 gal ) tote to hold 1 ton of rice coal I was wondering how yours holds 1-1/2 ton Did I do the math wrong ?

Hey Ed,
I pulled on the scale and got weighed empty, then pulled under the silo and the 330gal IBC was filled to the very brim, I pulled back onto the scale and the scale showed a gain of 3000lbs in coal weight. I then went back under the silo and got another 2500lbs put into the rear of the dump box. I was charged for 5500lbs of coal when I left the scale from the second go-round. Of course I`m trusting what the digital readout of the weigh scale is displaying, I hope the "butcher isn`t putting his thumb on the scale"
But I really don`t think that is the case, I`ve gotten a ton in my 275gal IBC by having it filled to the brim in past visits.

Thanks I appreciate the info. The bags will work great for me but I was having a time trying to figure out if I could get them filled. I have an 18ft car trailer I figure carry 3 ton in three bulk bags. Are they open on the weekend?

Well I have been burning Direnzo's coal for a week now and so far I really like It, I'm on a low burn as outdoor temps are in the 50°-60°'s until today so I can't tell how the heat output is going too be but I'm sure It's going to be good.

The ash is around10 to 12%, the coal ignites fast and fairly low volatiles, just cracking the air 1/8" gives me a stove temp of 250° so the heat output seems real good plus It's real clean and thats a good thing for a stove thats in a living area of a house .
When I'm In the area again I will definitely pay then a visit. Keepaeyeonit

Dave Vig II and I were there today. Brought back 3 ton of rice for the EFM and 1 ton of nut for the Harman. Clean and well sized coal, burning in the hand fed already. Got a bit of shoveling to do now.

Nice Haul !! The DiRenzo's Bandwagon is picking up steam ! They really seem to offer a consistant,high quality coal that just plain works.....Thanx for this thread,Gang !

Will be a week or two before I get the rice in the EFM bin and it works it's way into the pot, so I'll have to report on that later.
As far as the nut size goes, it's clean and well sized, very shiny too. I ran low on coal for the hand fed, and not wanting to loose my membership in the "One Match Club" I borrowed some from Dave Vig II. He gave me what must be the last of his stash of the old Harmony Mine coal (I don't want to burn it, I want to save some). That was burning in the stove, last night I filled it with the nut coal I hauled back yesterday. I honestly can't tell the difference. It lights off quickly with a blue flame, not sure on the ash yet.

In the past the rice I bought from Direnzo for the stoker was very good, no complaints.

The only difference I found is that Direnzo coal is larger in size and washed,the old UAE never washed their coal and was very dirty.They both burned hot

Not sure on the size, but you are correct, the UAE Harmony coal was not as clean, it was "minimally processed".

No the ash from Direnzo Coal is white, not red.

My 3rd year buying here. Great place to buy coal. Technology makes it easier too for the scale-master. He can read the scale from his cell phone!

It's a white ash coal this year, was more of a red last year. He admitted something to me last week, we can't, he can't get the best coal. It's gets skimmed and sold to the really big purchasers. Probably doesn't matter to us anyway. I'm not complaining.
