With Android phones becoming more and more popular and the number of Apps (literally tens of thousands) for these growing every day, what is your personal favorite?

I have only had an Android for a few months and have downloaded a few. I think my favorite right now would be "Scanner Radio". I am Asst. Chief with our local Vol. Fire Dept. I don't carry my pager to work with me because it will not pick up inside the building and also couldn't hear it. I do recieve our pages through my cell phone and when I do see that we have had a run, I can turn on Scanner Radio to listen if time permits so I know whats going on if it's something big.

If you can post a link to the App so others can find it easier, that would be helpfull.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com ... rch_result

Edit: Some States or Counties are considering this App and other like it illegal just like having a scanner in your vehicle. Please be aware of you local laws before downloading this App.

I like the Craigslist notification. Allows several searches. I have made several good purchases because of this free app.

I just got the Motorola Droid Bioninc a couple of weeks ago. Had the Droid 1 before that.

The app I probably have the most time on.... Klondike

What I use the most:
Widgetsoid
Weatherbug
GO Launcher ex
Facebook
Droidlight
Catch
Barcode Scanner
Plus factory installed ones like Gmail and maps

The Bionic suppports some better apps that the droid 1 didn't that I'm still getting used to using like FM Radio, Motoprint, and some of the HDMI applications for video.

Check depositing

I just put an app on my phone that lets me take a picture of both sides of a check and deposit it. Closest bank is 40 miles away and my bank is 150 miles away, the closer bank wasn't open when I moved here.

Tune in Radio,
I have a powered speaker system in my shop so I get my favorite stations loud and clear. AM and FM still had dropped signals all the time because of the machines and florescent lights.

Have some of the ones already mentioned.
Lets see Amazon, ebay, paypal, credit union, craigslist, mobile scan,(convert receipts to pdf's) yahoo finance and email, bar code and qr scanner, compass, temp, baro, sams club, tapatalk, state game lands maps, tv off(great app like tv be gone remote) whole crapload of nfc tag apps.

Also, Torque pro, (odbII code reader) with a $12 bluetooth obd adapter from Amazon, this program will read all check engine codes, srs (airbag) codes, rpm, voltage, timing, trans temp and much more. A handheld obd code reader doesn't even come close. I don't mind paying .99c or even more for a good decent app. Some of those include conversion apps, like a engineers handbook, ruler and protractor, level, screw thread pitch sizes, electronic connector pinouts etc.etc.

Fred,

I think you need an ape on your 'puter to stop you from getting all those viruses !!!!!

1 cool app that I got is back country navigator. Once installed you can purchase off road, topo, snowmobile, or any other map to place in layers on it. And I just recently downloaded the NOAA charts. This app works off the satellites just like a portable GPS so no need for cell service up in the mountains of Maine. Likewise with going out in the ocean. No need now for a GPS chartplotter.......

Rick
