I broke down and lit my stove tonight. It's an Alaska Channing with a Coaltrol. Love the Coaltrol. Anyway, it ran for about 10 minutes and the stove shutdown. I checked the fuse on the Coaltrol which looked fine and then tried the re-set button on the stove and still nothing. I have my Coaltrol wired into the safety switch on the stove. I bypassed the safety switch and everything worked. I waited about 20 minutes, once I had a good fire, and plugged the Coaltrol back into the safety switch and still no power. I tried re-setting it but with no luck.
I'm using my finger to press in the red button on the safety switch. Is there a technique for re-setting these switches that I don't know about. I have re-set it before with no problems. Does it sound like I need a new switch? Does it pay to even bother replacing it?
