My buddy has a porcelain walk in cooler/freezer from the early 50's that hasn't ran since they bought the store in '89. The compressor is long gone. Comes with about 20 foot of matching porcelain wall, 10 feet of that has a SS rack for hanging meat with a butchers block below it. The inside is all cedar, you can smell it. No meat stink at all. It's in really great shape, I wouldn't call it fancy but it's really nice piece. I really can't find anything on where you would sell it but I'm sure there must be a market for it, my only guess would be Ebay...

You might try a commercial refrig. forum. Maybe something like this one, from a quick search.

Or maybe a vintage refrigerator or appliance forum. http://www.antiquevintageappliances.com/

Richard,

Does your buddy have any idea on what he would like to get for it ??

I may be interested in buying it to hang our deer in it.

Rick

That's one of the problems, we don't know what it's worth and it's one of those things you need to find the right buyer. I think what we're going to do is list it on Ebay with starting bid of $1K. You'll have to disassemble yourself. If that doesn't work I'll probably take it apart myself and the price goes up. :)

LOL, you could hang 20 deer in it. It's pretty big, I'm assuming the SS rack of hooks is designed to go into the cooler, I know it's removable from the mounts outside. Never really looked inside to see if there was a place to put it. There is one large door and it has slatted shelves on two sides. There is also two other smaller window like doors on the the other side that gives you access to one of the shelves. This was behind the meat counter when it was a grocery store so it was meant to be seen by the public.

-----edit----

Forgot to mention it was flooded but it smells great. :D

For the cooler I would guess it's 6 wide, 8 long and 8 high.
