Keystoker Koker- Venting

PostBy: Len Basso On: Fri Oct 07, 2011 2:01 pm

Just a quick question for some of the people using the Keystoker Koker direct vent......can I use the 4 inch black vent pipe for the direct vent instead of the 4 inch stainless?

You can.
I'm going into my 4th year with my stainless vent pipe and I don't see any reason why it won't last a few more years after this.
I've never used the black pipe so I don't know how long that will last if you clean it good next spring.
I do know that stainless is very expensive and when it comes time to replace mine I'll have to weigh the savings with black pipe vs. the longevity of stainless.

I think you can use anything that fits, as long as you Seal all the joints, since it is pressurized. I am actually using some Galvanized B-Vent double wall on my Keystoker. I taped all the joints and sealed it around the direct vent. going on 2 or 3 years now.Just the end that goes outside got rotted last season due to the moisture, just had to replace a 2 foot section.
