Me, too. I ended up in the Doctor's office on Thursday updating my tetanus shot because I was too lazy to walk inside and get the gloves. I was cleaning out my coal area which is edged/lined with chicken wire so the dogs can't dig around the foundation. That's covered with yard fabric. Well I was picking up loose coal and rubbed my hand across the surface, slicing my fingers on the rusty chicken wire. Not enough to warrant stitches but rusty enough to make the trip to the doctor's. It was the first that anyone has referred to me as elderly. She said that "when any of our elderly patients come in" they recommend that they receive a DPT shot because most folks haven't had that updated since their school days which she apparently thought were longer ago then they are in my case. ;) It seems that whooping cough is making a come back. Anyway, I got my 3 fer and life goes on. Be careful, you never know what's going to jump up and bite you. Lisa

Red-Kote ® does not stick well to plastic tanks or to plastic parts inside a gas tank.

is a replacement tank out of the question...

Hello all, Day late an a dollar short but oh well.... Gotta say the waffles sounded nice and Capecoalers sausages too! I'm a sausage freak, just love em, especially home made. We've got a guy in town here, Joe's Sausage, that makes well, I know this is a bold statement, but the best, at least Italian style. He does breakfast too in casings or bulk, but those rings of Italian, whether sweet fennel or hot garlic with wine, are just killer. The Bangor Daily did a story about the guy during the summer. He's in his 80's and going strong. Came up here from southern Jersey where he'd had a family farm. The guy has a garden he tends that is 3 times the size of mine too! He will not give out the spice recipe under threat of death! Good old dude and still quite the flirt with the lady's says my sister.

I spent my Saturday cruising up and down Rt9 (Could have stopped in for waffles and ham Freddie) to Mariaville, Me. I took my old Mum to see an older Friend of hers (They were both Professors at the University of Maine Machias campus). to reminisce and have lunch. This Friend of Mom's has a gorgeous property on a small river, boat launch, canoe etc.. right one her place. 450 pristine acres too. The house is a hoot though. I makes mine seem like the rock of Gibraltar concerning the tilting of the floors, roof, etc... Each room seemed to have a different tilt, (pun intended). My little Star Herald was still showing 350 degrees when I Left the house after not being touched for 24hrs. When I got back it was down to 225 but still glowing after near 36hrs. Pleased but was a bit concerned about the draft as it was in the low 70's time I got back. Crazy weather with a supposed 80 day tomorrow! We'll take it though. I'll clean out and vacuum the two one last time and break out my tube of furnace cement for a couple little spots I saw a glow in and we're good. Holiday Monday which is nice too! Have a great week all.

Good morning everyone !! sounds like most of us are enjoying the last little bit of nice fall weather, before the true cold and winter arrives.

I got back from Hershey on Friday night, around 11pm. I left HersheyPark around 2:30, with two stops for fuel, it was a quick drive, all the traffic was moving along at a quick 75+mph pace and I was lovin' it.. I always had someone else to be the leader and take the radar/laser from the po-lice. I saw the po-lice with a few cars on the shoulder, but never go after any of us in my pack of cars/trucks.

And, amazingly, with a very accurate fill-to-the-neck fuel top off, my truck did an amazing 19.8mpg, and that was with many stretches of 85mph+ running, the wind was dead calm or maybe a slight tailwind at times.. and I wasn't drafting any trucks..

I found a few bits and pieces for my Pierce Arrow cars at Hershey, enough to make the visit worthwhile, but the visiting with friends is always on the top of the list as well as parts-hunting.

Beautiful weather here, supposed to be pretty nice for a while yet.. I'll burn propane for the occasional shot of heat if I need it.

Freetown Fred: sit your butt down !! read a damned book or read the internet !! That 'walking pneumonia' is one step from 'hospital bed pneumonia' !!!
Take care of yourself bud !!!

Smitty, I sure wish you were not 800 miles away, I could use some of your energy and mechanical prowess to get some of my mechanical project DONE.. I have wayyy too much to do here, and still leave every week for 5+days.... maybe when I 'retire'... lol.

OK, time to get something accomplished..

A handfull of '20s, and '30's car parts, and some trading stock. the 22" rim is very hard to find, and lots of parts specific to PierceArrow cars only.

 Freddy:
Nope, the truck and I survived the trip home quite well, the toughest part was the heavily truck traveled I-75 from Toledo north, and my rough-as-hell dirt road to the farm.. I thought I'd shake loose some Dodge Truck parts !! But the bumps served to keep me awake on the last hour of my drive.

Freetown Fred: really glad to hear you are feeling better. Gotta let the body use it's resources to heal, instead for powering muscles putting up that 'lean to'.
BTW, it's looking real nice, I need to build one of those onto my barn, so I can hoard some more stuff!!

It was just beautiful today, still 79*, I took the '64 Buick Convertible out for some exercise, man they knew how to make a car ride nice back then, it didn't mind the bumpy dirt road at all.

Greg, leave it to you to consider tailwinds during automobile travel :D

I used to work for The Kanter Brothers, what a gig that was. They had a huge warehouse on their property with some amazingly rare cars. They had a 50's propotype Chrysler that had a record player in it! One of a kind. Facel Vegas, Munce Jets, Packards all over the place. They're still there wheeling and dealing.

I have a 10" DeSoto hubcap that's the extent of my collection.

I have a line on a '71 Impala 2 dr, hope this doesn't jinx it. I don't have a place for it anyway.

Cap,

Did you camp at Cherry Springs ? Moon was a little bright eh .
I've been there during full moon and it's so bright, I woke up at
3:00 am and thought if was morning.
I usually tent under the pines on the right as you come in. Keeps
the dew to a minimum and is close to the head.

They are cooking *censored* or apple butter. Hard to tell the difference.

Yep, Cherry Springs under the moon. There was a NASA movie & talk which lasted two hrs. And some telescopes to spot the craters on the moon & Jupiter. The moon was so bright, you could see where you were walking without flashlights. But the moon set at 4a. I was up from 5a to 6a playing with my Google Sky Watch App.
