Jay,
Have you checked your draft? Do you have a chimney or is this a direct vent? With your original setting on the timer, I would think that you would be overfiring, not underfiring. Is your timer working correctly? I have mine set with two pins at 0 and 1 pin at 8. I didn't count, but I would guess that my feed rate is about 14 turns out.

yes on chimney and yes on draft had it set and draws fine, as I stated the last 3 days it was holding about an inch of glowing coals , then if I were guess the water temp would finally fall below 160 and the hydro would kick in and bring water back up to temp, but the house was 3 deg higher then the t-stat was , so I was getting no real call for heat, I have once when I first got the KA6 did cause a overheart but it was during the winter and I made a mistake with pins, I always find myself as spring comes in adding pins to help keep fire going, as my demand becomes less, is this normal ??? thanks for the replys

We found what your problem was in the other thread you posted in. Check the conections on your secondary blower.......it may be something simple or you may need to get a new one.

well when the stoker fan is running so is the secondary ?? but it is not running when the stoker fan is not running, so is their a switch or relay bad ?? or is is still the fan and if so any links on where I can buy one online ?? ty for all your help
If the keep alive is not running it sounds like a wiring issue to me. My new ka-6, installed it this fall, has a set of wires from the stoker motor and a set of wires from the keep alive fan to a junction box I mounted below the hopper. the wire from the timer is a 3 conductor. white tied to both whites from the motors, the black went to 1 motor and the red went to the other. my timer has 4 terminals. the first has no external wires on it. the 2nd has the red wire from the terminal box, this terminal is hot all the time and connects to the keep alive fan. the 3rd has the black wire from the terminal box, it is hot when the timer pins call for heat, it connects to the stoker motor, and the 4th is common, all the white wires connect there.

Hello Jay,
You didn't mention if you had cleaned out the fines from under the grate, and did you check to see if all the holes in the grates were open? If the air holes are clogged with fines, you won't get enough air to support the idle fire.
Just a thought,
What is your draft? did you clean out any horizontal sections of flue? if not the draft may be a bit low, especially with just an idling fire, and the warm weather.

Hello Gary there are many images of keystoker timers here on the forum perhaps that can help you?
