SDS Supply claims to have 3 in stock Taco Model 49-125. It's the one without the built-in air vent. Not sure what you want. Check the Taco catalogs for the correct P/N before you order.

This gives you regional sales rep, still waiting for a reply from that, BUT will they be able to say yes this company has them(it in stock??)

Found several places that offer it on thier websites, but none stock it. Special order.

Sorry about mistaking the part number. Have you considered the hydraulic separators from Caleffi? Their series 548 seems similar.

I put "Caleffi 548007A" in Google and got quite a few returns. Public published prices are quite high. One was Johnstone Supply, a co-op national plumbing supply. They have many locally owned stores but are supplied via the national co-op purchasing power. I have an account at the one store they have in Maryland, but it's not very competitive with the other wholesales. There is a large Johnstone store in Philadelphia. It's Johnstone Supply - Philadelphia store #129. 4700 Wissahickon Ave (215) 849-5755 You will get the same BS, we don't sell retail when you call them. However, the same store, trades on E-Bay as JSPhilly. Find them on E-Bay and send them a special quote request. I have found JSPhilly's E-Bay quotes to be very competitive, often better than the local wholesalers where I do have accounts. Check out their web site at I suggest buying via E-bay to get some of the customer assurances in case something goes wrong. I've had some delivery issues with JSPhilly that finally got resolved but it took weeks. My filing an E-Bay complaint got their attention and helped considerably.

i am considering the Caleffi. Either or... why does something thats made to reduce cost and installation ease, actually have to be equal to, if not greater in cost then plumbing a system to get similar results in a different way??!!

Suppose its the new idea business management theroies taught anymore, you need us, the suppliers, more than we need you the consumers.

When they state that it reduces cost, they are talking about total installed cost that includes a labor rate for a skilled worker. Materials costs are usually more but labor savings will make up the difference and then some.

Personally, I would'nt use a 1-1/4 hydraulic separator. It is limited to 15 gpm. If you are piping the system yourself, buy a good air separator and pipe it primary, secondary with closely spaced tees. Save the hydraulic separators for the larger mutiple boiler systems.

I agree with "steamup", use primary-secondary piping to achieve hydraulic isolation. Much easier and less expensive to get the needed parts. The only disadvantage is the pump; the cost of running it and it's reliability.

For the truly skilled do it yourself craftsman, build your own hydraulic isolator. Caleffi's web site has cutaway illustrations of the internal construction. You will have one more example to show your friends how unique you are. :-)

Found the seperator via BJ Terroni Co. should be at, local to me supply house, by thursday. I am going this way because of needing to have oil boiler in heat cycle for DHW coil. I have posted a diagram in past posts as to how i am plumbing.

Thats my story and i'm sticking to it.
