Unplugging controller while stove is running??

Can i unplug the cat5 running to my coaltrol while its on or should i just turn it off and do what i need with the cable and plug it back in when im done?

If you unplug it the black box goes stupid, everything stops.

Depending how long you will be working, you can just plug the
combustion fan in to the wall socket and manually jiggle the carpet
to keep the fire going for as long as you need.

tsb made a good suggestion. My technical background has me answer questions I am asked without offering suggestions unless I am asked, I guess I could offer more but some folks just ask questions than ask for suggestions :oops:

As a general rule of thumb, you should never unplug DC electricity. Unplug the Ac source, then unplug the DC.

I only need to unplug the controller to plug it in to the cat5 i ran in the wall to my upstairs area, so i can jsut run the new wire then unplug the system and hook the new cat5 up and plug it back in, the fire should be fine for the 5 min that will take i think.

Should be fine. We do it frequently at the shop with no ill effects. You can also unplug everything like Freddy mentioned. Either way should be fine.
