Anyone remotely monitoring boiler temp, etc.

I don't want to reinvent the wheel and I'm guessing at least a few of the clever fellows on this forum are doing this. I'd like to be able to tell what the boiler temp is from the family room. Is there a simple inexpensive way to do this?

how about a wireless camera, then run it into an input on your TV...just switch inputs and you can see your boiler and temps.

I have always wanted to know the flue temps at the top of my chimney, have not found a way yet..

I have thought about a way to use my iPhone to monitor house temps.

In reading the reviews of this unit, one person said the two units have to be in line of sight of one another. Is that the case?

If its Infrared, then they have to be inline with each other. If RF or FM transmitter, then no.

Specs don't really say. Best to ask the man who actually has one I guess. I'd hate to buy it and not be able to use it. The dual probes are a nice feature.

Many of the disgruntled users on Amazon.com reported that it would not work as little as 10 feet away if the signal was going through a wall. If it did work, it would be a great thing to have.
