Oil Furnace Blower Motor.

Has anyone here ever replaced the blower motor on their oil furnace?

I have an 8 year old Armstrong Air Ultra 80 oil-fired hot air furnace that most likely has a bad bearing on the blower motor. This furnace is very cheap and came with the house when I bought it.

Could I remove the existing motor and replace it with a new ECM motor and run the blower using my Coal-trol?

I was wondering if I could use the same 1800 cfm blower motor that Leisure Line uses on their Anthraking 110 furnace.

Another option is to can the Armstrong and buy a slightly used oil furnace from Craiglist. I just found a Thermo Pride (top-of-the-line) furnace for $ 500.00 on Craigslist which is fair.

Just got to match up the RPM, direction of rotation, and horsepower ratings - if any one of those specs is different, some strange ... and not necessarily good ... things will happen.

EDIT: oops ... I think your talking about the fan motor that moves air ... and not the burner motor?

If you have a model number, just look it up on Google (or Ebay). Typically Fasco or Dayton blowers are interchangeable.

I have ordered replacement combustion/convection blowers from them and work fine.

Well, I removed the blower assembly from the furnace and without removing the motor completely, I can see B2 P41 on a sticker. But, when googled nothing comes up. So, I need to remove the motor from the assembly I guess?

OK, it's a A.O. Smith F48R28A45 motor.

And of course, no matches found on the AO Smith website or anywhere else!!!!!!

That's why I hate life sometimes. Why can't anything be simple?

Probably a superseded number. Take the numbers and codes (all of them) off the data plate. The motor house can then supply you with the proper replacement in almost any brand.
