My time line may have been put off a bit with the election of Obama & stronger control of Congress by the Dems Terry.....BUT....I still have full faith in the greed of the oil company's & I think we have just prolonged the inevitable fairy tales describing the need for price hikes at the pump. Don't get me wrong, I hope I do lose the bet but I have no illusion that, after "tasting" the record setting high profits big oil has enjoyed for the last 8 years.......They are like sharks with blood in the water!! :fear:

Well of course oil and gas prices will eventually rise again. You were contending however that the Republicans could somehow manipulate that market in an attempt to influence the election. Just ain't so. The drop in oil and gas prices occured due to world oil market forces, nothing to do with the US election.

But the refining of gasoline & home heating oil is in their power & I'm still sure that prices will be artificially increased in this country again...In the very near future. I stand by my allegation that these prices have been & will again be criminally manipulated. With a "New sheriff in town", I think oil company board rooms are now merely assessing "How far can we go?",......... How soon can we go there?",......."What are the legal dangers we'll face now?"

If McCain had won, I think these decisions would have been much easier for obvious reasons, & I would not be recommending to sell your oil company stocks. ;)

What is your new time line estimate? I would like to bet you some coal on that too. I will get my ton, one bag at a time :dancing: :dancing:
Once again I would love to lose my bet because it would mean the economy would be booming. I hate to tell you, but these prices are all about supply and demand.

Crude continues decline despite signals from OPEC
 Gasoline prices again fell overnight, prompting one analyst to note a "half price holiday sale on gas" with Americans fueling up for the Thanksgiving holiday at half the price they did in July.

I heard yesterday that OPEC moved their meeting up to Nov. 29th from the scheduled Dec. 17 th date. :mad: If you're going to top off your oil tanks, I'd do it in the next few weeks. Lowest prices here are 2.29/gal with an average of 2.55.

Don't get too excited by the OPEC bluster, I would bet the quota cheating is all ready well under way, and in force. Ole' Chavez has $100 oil baked into his budget and the only way to make it up, is to cheat and keep on pumping. It is at this stage where it gets really fun, watching them meet, cheat, and lie as the price keeps falling, and they keep cheating, which makes the price fall more, and so on, and so on... Until the economy turns around with documentation to prove it, the price has no place to go but down. Put up your feet and enjoy cause it won't last forever :beer: :cheers: :drunk:

I got gas on Sunday at the Pilot in Carlisle for $1.83! :D :lol: :rofl: :punk: 8-) Gee if this continues at this rate will we be bailing out the oil companies just like GM and Ford? :roll: :confused:

Oil prices fall once again, but signs emerge that Americans are heading back to the pump

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Oil prices continued to fall Tuesday as a government report showed that gasoline prices in October plunged further than they ever have and home heating oil, natural gas, and liquefied petroleum gas fell substantially.

Light, sweet crude for December delivery fell 56 cents to settle at $54.39 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
