around" $4.00 per gallon by X-mass & that I couldn't live with myself if I took 1 ton of coal from you in mid-winter!
Lets keep the bet to a "friendly" bag of coal.
My obvious point is that as soon as the election is over on Tuesday, we all know that those 'Legitimate Market Forces" will cause gasoline prices to start their inexorable climb back up the ladder.
(PS...If you need fuel assistance that badly this winter, I understand former Massachusetts Congressman Joe kennedy offers a free service to those in need!....I think the tel # is 1-800-CALL JOE
)
Edit: I'll make sure to re-open this thread X-mass week & we can check gas prices then.
Hey dev,
Christmas came and went and I never got my bag of coal, sniff, sniff . Lets see, gas around here is a buck seventy five, I think your GW conspiracy has now been proven to be suspect.
In lieu of a bag of coal, repeat after me:
George Bush did not control oil, George Bush did not control oil, George Bush did not control oil......

If you folks think coal and fuel oil and gasoline are expensive now you just wait till January 20/2009.
When Mr Obama gets his new desk his first proclamation will likely be a huge increase in gasoline tax.I bet its $2 a gallon. Then coal will get a nice huge tax right along with it.

The reason why gasoline prices have not gone back up is the oil company CEO's are now scared to death about doing prison time .........once the new sheriff (Obama) gets to Dodge City. (They pushed so hard they broke the entire economy with their greed the first time!.....Once people fueled their cars, bought heating oil & paid high food prices due to high deisel prices, they had no money left to buy cars,homes, pay their mortgages or even buy X-mass presents ......There is no more money for them to steal from us!!
)
A bet's a bet though, so just PM me your address & I'll send your coal.

You can send me a few pieces at a time if you don't want to ship the whole bag at once.

I see that Terry but you & I both know that the oil companies control the refining of crude into gasoline & that, whatever the fairy tale is going to be this year, there will be a steep price increase in gasoline prices in the U.S. starting right after the election.....Wanna bet some coal on it?
Yup!

I'll wager my prize lump of Superior stove coal that's sittng on the shelf over my desk. (See John, you arn't the only one who decorates with coal). What are you betting?
I'll say that gasoline prices will start to rise again by mid to late November & will continue to rise until we are at or above the $4.00 per gallon mark again, probably as early as X-mass but certainly by mid January.
As far as what I'm betting....I don't have a huge "Family Heirloom" like the lump of coal you have but I can offer you a nice 40 lb polyethylene bag of Blaschak nut coal?
Yup, again.
