Welcome to the new forum... sorta Updated and Viewable

If you cannot login Email me at forum@nepadigital.com

Have no fear the light blue skin will be making an exit stage left shortly. :) Worked on it overnight, had hoped to have my custom skin installed but it took longer than expected so you have to deal with this ugly blue for while because I'm going to sleep. :P Hopefully I didn't miss any major issues....

To start I would suggest first going to your profile, it is quite extensive compared to the old one. At the very least you might want to make sure the time is correct and you have the correct setting for DST, you only have to do this once. The old forum didn't allow for DST... and it is just coincidence that today is the day to turn your clocks.

This forum has many cool features, more to be added.

In the meantime if you experience any problems, whatever it is please post it here and I'll try to address it. Everything should be fully functional.

------------------
I just wanted to note that the classifieds and the statistics got the axe temporarily but I will be adding them shortly. Using search will return nothing, I need to rebuild the search database but that will be done shortly.

Hello Richard, can't wait for the faint blue to go away and get a color with more contrast. Page is too washed out looking.

Sure would like an explaination of the icons on the left of the threads,

AND, 'coal berner' is locked out, can't create a new password or get on to even read the forums. He is suffering from WITHDRAWAL Symtoms.

There was permission incorrectly applied and apparently no one could read this message. Anyhow you can see it now.

I've already come across a bug and there is no fix at this time on phpbb.com regarding PM's.

Firstly (and this doesn't fix the bug) the default behavior of the old forum was once your inbox became full it would automatically delete the oldest PM's. That is no longer the case unless you set it to do that otherwise messages are put on hold and you will not be able to view them until you manually delete them or move them to your savebox. If you want to return to the old behavior Click the link for the user control panel, Click the Private messages tab , on the left click the link for Rules, Folders and settings .

This brings up the settings for how messages are handled, cat the bottom you'll see a selection for delete old messages. Select that the hit the change button.

Onto the bug, You may have to manually delete some messages to get your new ones. Additionally next to user control panel link the message may say you have X amount of new messages but nothing in your inbox. The message next to the User control panel is the bug, For the moment just ignore it and use whatever information is available when you go to the PM screen.

Another small bug has popped up, the pop ups for PM's don't work if you have that enabled in your profile. that should be fixed shortly too.

I notice sometimes when websites or forums change their format you can still see the old style format if you prefer it...Is this possible?

I'll answer your question and lay out a the basic roadmap for the future. To answer your question you can't at the moment, but this software provides the ability to apply different themes either by you or I can force a choice. I don't have any other themes installed at the moment so there isn't any choice. I can even apply different themes to different sub sections which I'll get to in moment. I've been using this style with the avatar on the left on another forum and it grows on you, I didn't like it at first either but prefer it now.

In the near future I'm expanding into other forums to hopefully attract people with other interests. This was actually the plan many years ago when I originally started this forum, some of the earliest members will remember that this only had only a singe section for anthracite questions but I didn't have the people to support a larger forum and that was the only section that was used so I dumped them.

For example the Other interest section is going to be split off into another subsection from the Anthracite forum. In other words there will be a main page and from there you will be able to go to the Anthracite Forum, Home & Garden, Clubs etc Each sub section can and will have it's own theme to provide a visual cue as to where you are at, the Anthracite Forum will be themed similar to the old one. The key here is they will all have the same login. In addition I'll be providing a basic theme similar to the old one that can be used, you'll be able to switch this in your profile. I'll also be providing one specifically tailored for cell phones and other small devices. This new software offers me lots of things I couldn't do previously but it will take time to get it all integrated

In addition to the new forums I'll also be adding a file gallery as well for hosting images, video, or other files. Games is another thing etc... A lot of things.

Now understandably some may have concern as I know some people don't like change, overall though the functionality which isn't much different than the old one will remain the same . These additional features and forums will practically be completely separate but very easy to utilize for those that want too because they will have the same login.
