Nicely done there. I know very little about installations like your's (or most for that matter), but it's very obvious that you knew what you were doing. Hope that you enjoy it. Now pardon me asking again if it's already been discusssed, but are you planning on having the heat just come up the stairs into the house, or do you have vents, circulators, etc??
I had a wood stove in my basement at my other house. I hoped to have it heat the upstairs, but my basement ceiling was tiled or something. That heat REFUSED to come up the stairs. I even cut vents in the floor and I still couldn't get barely any heat to come up to the first floor. Ever since, I've always been leery of having a stove in the basement. I guess it was just the set-up of my own basement. I have several friends (and a brother) who have their stove's in the basement and their houses are toasty.
