Coal Stove/Furnace Fields Now in Your Profile

Coal Stove/Furnace Fields Now in Your Profile

PostBy: Richard S. On: Mon Nov 05, 2007 1:50 pm

LsFarm suggested this which is good idea. I've added custom fields in the profiles to add the make and model of the Coal stove/furnace you are using. These will show up in the pane to left of your posts. These are also available on the registration as of now so I'll just leave this stickied for while until people who have already registered know about it.

You can add this by clicking the User control panel link, then click the profile tab.

Did it, thanks.

I noticed a few changes today, I like the way it's progressing.

What I would like to see, for everyone's sake, is a signature at the bottom of everyone's posts. This way, anyone reading one of your posts will know what you have for a coal-burning appliance.

We all know what we own, and burn, but no everyone else knows, or can remember [that's me! ]. Some members have been on the site for a long time, and lots of us know what you are burning in. But a new member reading a post without background information may be missing the point without the info.

I often find myself reading a post, with my feeble memory, can't remember what this person is burning in, and have to go to his profile, and do a search for previous posts to find out what the deal is... this if very time consuming.

So if everyone adds a signature, it will certainly help some if not all of us..

Thanks Greg L

I have the same problem, Greg. I can't always remember who has what, who's a manly-man and who is a girly-man.

It's under the Avatar on the left....errrrrrrr right if you haven't noticed yet. This has the benefit of being part of the registration process. As I mentioned in the PM it's one of the standard features on the the new software.

You avatar pic cannot be larger than 120 pixels wide, you must RE-SIZE or RE-SAMPLE your image to that size....
