Hyfire I up and running.

Hyfire I up and running!! Phew, that thing gets hot!

We are supposed to have snow tomorrow and on/off Wed, thurs....I have one burner running since Sat. Morning with the coaltrol keeping it constant.

Phew...after lighting the other burner, the stove temp on the front mag. thermometer is reading 400 degrees! The stack temp is around 250 and heat going upstairs is around 120-125 degrees! It's only 45 degrees out currently, but supposed to drop overnight. It is settling down now... :)

Jerry, do you guys have new combustion blowers for the 40K side? Mine is rattling quite loud, I oiled it, WD40, etc...it still has a rattle when running.

Also, can the blower be changed while the other side is running? is it bolted to the grate or is the grate separate?

Thanks!

Hi Dave, did you have the fan apart?? usually a 'rattle' means a loose nut/bolt, maybe a crack in the fan housing. does it quiet down when you touch the motor, or put a little pressure/torque on the motor or it's mountings??

Now [I'm nagging at ya :) ] quit wasting that 400* heat on the basement!!! and up the chimney, create some kind of bonnet that encloses as much of the stove 'box' as possible and run a fan through it. You will get as much vent temperature as you have now on half the fire, and a lot lower stack temp too. [OK, nag is over]

I know you need to have another project, right??

Greg.

Greg-
Just testing.
Yes, will dissassemble and check/lube if needed. I am just seeing how it will work, I will get a bonnett, just making sure it does what it supposed to. I can alway put a fan at the top of the basement steps Sucking the warm air up!

Thanks....(so quit your nagging.... :) )

And Yes, The Keystoker is unhooked....

Greg- Got it, that was the only motor I forgot to clean after getting the stove from you! Just unbolted it, took to the work bench, cleaned and lubed it up, WOW, it as quiet as can be now! A little maintenance goes a long way! :)

Hi Dave,
Sorry I didn't get back to you, we have been pretty busy at work. I hope the stove works fine. I'm was a little worried about the shady fellow you bought this unit off of. :D
