kaa-2 and ka-6 stoker design

what is the diffrrence between the stoker design on the kaa-2 and the ka-6. i am leaning towards the kaa-2 because i only have a 1200square foot house and the ka-6 would be over kill. i just dont want to have any problems with this coal stove.

Ok then you seen the spec. page for the two stokers that is the link for them

the only thing i noticed in the data list is under stoker data the kaa2 hase one grate and the ka-6 has three grates and that the ka-6 hold more water. i just want to know what he diffrece is in the stoker design, just wondering if the might have cheaped out on the kaa-2

The KAA-2 stoker appears to be one of their stokers used in their stoker stoves. I say that based on pictures of the KAA-2 posted on the forum. If in fact it is then it has one motor to run the coal feed and a separate motor/blower for the through the grate air. The KA-6 stoker uses an oil burner motor to turn a fan and drive a gear box that in turn feeds the coal down the grate. The KA-6 has a small blower mounted to it to supply a small amount of constant airflow through the grate. Should that small blower fail on the KA-6 it should not result in the fire going out during cold weather use but it may lower the overall efficiency a little. The KA-6 stoker is all steal and cast iron in its construction. It is my opinion that the KA-6 is a more durable design, but thats just my opinion.

I too read the data sheet . It does say the KAA-2 has one grate. I ordered a brand new KAA-2. Just so everyone knows , it came with three grates , not one.

i just ordered a keystoker boiler kaa-2 and i am waiting for it to come. i was wondering if you were happy with it and how coal are you burning to heat your house. also how many square feet are you heating. i am going to be heating a 1200square foot ranch with my unit.

It appears that updating their web site is not high on the priority list at Keystoker. Either they changed the design of the KAA-2 at some point or it was a misprint from the start. The KA-4 continues to be listed and it has not been made for a few years now.
