KA-2 Timer idea

KA-2 Timer idea

PostBy: Kungur On: Thu Dec 01, 2011 2:22 pm

In my quest to work out my DHW set-up with the KA-2 many of you folks have replied with many ideas.
Today I had a thought that I wanted to run by you guys.
What if I wired the small circulator to the Intermatic timer on my KA-2 and let that run the pump?

that could work, if you didn't want it to run 24/7.

How would you match pump on time to DHW use demand?

I used the Watt's pump at the 1st link below. The motor can be timed, switched off, or run continuously.

Iirc, I shopped and found it for $125 ish on ebay. Beware, some vendors list it as plastic. *Afaik*, the casting and impeller on the #500-800 are brass. Double check though. The instructions with the blue paint over brass version that I have specs 120* water max, but it's fine so far at far above that. There's a thread here somewhere with pics of my install, but I can't find it.

Here's another candidate that I know nothing about.

Sting,
My thout is this. The timer on my KA-2 is set for 2 minutes on every 10 minutes. I was thinking that this would keep my tank always "topped off & hot".
At least this my idea! I guess I will just give it a try.
