If somebody ran into the back of me and I cracked a nail I could buy all those cars with my jury award. Gotta love the US and The Association of Trial Lawyers (BIG contributors to all) somehow tort reform never gets discussed at election time. If we ever get an honest candidate thats how you will know, that and shut the Fed. Relax it will never happen.

I was gonna run out & check my garage but then I saw that it was in Japan. That & the fact that I don't own one pretty much made me safe.

You'd get support for tort reform from Republicans, it was one suggestion they put forth during the healthcare bill debate. Lawyers are easily largest political contributors as a group and overwhelmingly support Democrats.

The 2008 numbers:
D' $187,297,230 77%
R's $55,939,843 23%

The 2010 numbers:
D's $105,301,919 77%
R's $30,940,166 23%

FYI about 40% of Congress are lawyers.

Explains why MA is so screwed up. 95% of our politicians have second jobs as lawyers ...
