Sad day

Sad day

PostBy: Freddy On: Fri Dec 16, 2011 3:11 pm

Remember a week or two ago Marty & I went to a charity supper for a fellow that had just been diagnosed with lung cancer? The money raised was to send him & his family on a Disney vacation. Well, it looks like the money will just go to a college fund instead.... the poor guy passed away yesterday. Shocking fast... only about two months since first symptoms. *sigh* Hug your loved ones, and do it today. You never know when your time on this Earth is done.

Sorry to hear that Fred. That really sucks. :(

I guess that's part of the reason I am the way I am. I know how quickly it can end - from experiencing asthma attacks myself, to watching friends die of cancer, overdoses, & liver failure.

Live while you can, & don't sweat the small *censored*.

I too am sorry to hear about your freind freddy. Really sad, I had a buddy only 60 yrs. old pass away 4 years ago from cancer, he was in the service when he was younger and was in the middle of the agent orange zone. I dont know much about that stuff but once the cancer took hold he only lasted about 5 weeks,,, was a very sad day for me,, we were like brother's. The amazing thing about it is the day he passed i had a beautiful grandaughter born. Sometimes you wonder ?????? Anymore i'am getting at the age where i truly believe you have to eat your desert first, you might not have the time to eat supper. Again really sorry to hear about your freind.

Freddy, your friend is fortunate, I've seen too many friends suffer WAY to long. He'll be in my prayers tonight.

Freddy..very sorry about your friend. I agree with the other Fred. Quickly is how I'd like to go if its cancer. The lingering is torture. Tough anytime but especially at the holidays.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. Life seems to pass in the blink of an eye. I know I don't wait to call my mom anymore, I just do it. I don't want to have to always regret not picking up the phone. My prayers are with you and his family. Lisa

Fred, for openers,sorry....... ......Getting zapped at Christmas really hurts, period. In an odd way,I wish Ma would dust the kids off just a litle bit by still taking them on that trip,if for nothing else to celebrate Pa's Life....

Freddy:

Sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. It is funny how at some point in our lives, life stops giving and starts to slowly take things away. I agree with everyone, enjoy your family and friends as much as you can for they can be gone in a blink of an eye. Grab life by the horns and enjoy the ride while you can.

The snowman.

Thank you for all of your kind thoughts. I kind of like the idea that the trip not be cancelled. Perhaps I'll be bold enough to suggest it.

Life goes on and without a doubt the trip should go on. Yes it will be bittersweet at times but so what...It may be just what is needed to move forward with their life's. The college fund can wait, give them something to remember now. Lisa

I'm sorry to hear about your friend Freddy, both of my folks passed at this time of year when I was much younger and it leaves a lasting impression. I too hope they take the trip and celebrate his life, he would probably want it that way.
