I don't like the snow either, but if it's going to be cold, that poor man's insulation that we call snow helps a lot!

It sure does. I hate plowing snow, but I admit that the house heats easier with a nice blanket of snow one everything. It is currently 7 degrees with a 10 mph NW wind here, brrrrr.

Only 26* here this morning but sure enough my bus wouldn't start. Bummer, waited for 2 hours for the mechanic to show up and tell me they have to tow it. I hope I have better luck tomorrow when it's supposed to be 16* but something tells me driving the 20 year old spare isn’t going to be much better. Stay warm, Lisa

Not on my house. My 1600 is a nuclear reactor in my house. I get 2' ice dams on my house cause it melts all the snow off the house.

No, no it does not. Which is why I went with an over sized stove. The house was built in 1948 as a summer lake house so its not insulated much at all; only what I've managed to do. It only became a full-time live in home in the past 10 years. My wife and I are actually the first ones that live there all year round. The attic is insulated but not very well.

I remember those from last year. I had some pics on here somewhere of my dams. I think we were competing whose dams were bigger. :)

:funny: Yeah those were old ones. So far no snow yet - except for that freak storm in October. But didn't sit on the roof long enough to make a proper dam. ;)

Froggy is livin the good life compared to the other froggies out there now. Life is good when you have flowing water after January 1st up here in the northeast.

Sort of like my life ..... compared to Eddie Van Halen's life. You just can't compare. :D

Holy *censored*! Smitty, does your house have any insulation in the attic? If it does, there must be massive amounts of warm air going up there. Even my 100 yr old "camp" doesn't shed heat like that (not into the attic anyway).
