Actually, I have an 8' step ladder that converts to about a 14' straight ladder. That might reach, as long as the pole doesn't start to bend over from the weight Didn't have to worry about it, but when the bulb goes, I'm surprized it lasted this long.

Off topic but- Been down this road several times, there is NOTHING in Pa. state inspection guidelines that addresses window tint!!! A garage CANNOT fail you for inspection due to window tint!!! A police officer CAN issue a citation... Been to court enough times to know, and also been there enough times to know that a ride through the municipal police department employee parking area with a pen and paper in hand to write down the vehicle make, model, color, tag # etc. of all vehicles with aftermarket tint on the ride to court will stop them in their tracks!!! Also, write down the same info for any vehicle in the magistrates very own parking lot prior to going in!!! Those that uphold the law must abide by it too!!!

Good for you Murdoc, I wanted to recheck the laws & fight, I know many years ago it was on the books. My son looked at it as another day having to take off work or worse yet school & then having a local cop hassle him, the District Justice found him guilty so he either did so out of ignorance or as a favor to the cop. There was a violation # on the summons, I agree there are hundreds of cars with deep tint around.
I also have a driveway that turns around the back of the house & I have a motion detector on that corner of the house. It was that way when I bought here & works well for me.

It was about $36, 42 watt flourescent bulb gives off about 150 regular watts of light, made my electric go up about $10 month. First bulb did burn out after 2 years but was only $10 to replace.
