chimney question

im looking to hook up my coal furnace in my basement next year. my basement window lines up with my triple wall pipe that comes out the side of my house. is it legal to run triple wall out a basement window? it will be about a foot off the ground when it comes out the side of the window.

I don't see why not .... but then again you live in NY .... and I live in MA - laws are put in place on emotion rather than common sense 95% of the time, so who knows for sure ...

Triple wall is as safe as it gets - and especially with coal, there should be zero danger of fire caused by the pipe. As long as the exit is above any possible snow line, I think your golden.

triple wall has to be 2" away from combustable surface so id say yes although I would remove the glass and fill the opening with durarock and cut a appropiate sized hole in that.....

the window is already boarded up, i have my vents for my furnace running out it. im gonna check with my local codes enforcer. thanks

boarded? durarock is fire proof plywood isnt so double check it

its ply wood now, it would be changed out with something non flamable.
