The left has infilitrated the Girl Scouts. What next???

Sending girls to Media Matters for "truth about reporting" is NOT what I would call a correct move. Somehow a left wing George Soros funded organization is suddenly the bearer of all truth??? Wow ...

No more Girl Scout cookies for me. I'm not funding this. It's too bad the girls got caught up in this political B/S though ...

And before the 2 left leaning guys on the forum chime in - this post is for people who care where their money goes. If you love the left, well then your going to buy extra boxes of cookies regardless of what I say, so save the comments. If your normal, well then I'd pull my kids out of this organization, & stop buying the cookies as well.

It's worse than you think with the Girls Scouts. I was a leader for over 12 years and watched the mission slowly change from building strong, responsible young women to being a mouth piece for the leftist movement. I pulled my girls out 4 or 5 years ago when the Girls Scouts of America partner shipped with Planned Parenthood to build a sex education program for the girls against the input of the parents. I had grown disenchanted with the program when the National Headquarters became even more PC after 911. They wanted us to honor the Taliban and other Middle Eastern governments during a worldwide celebration of girls and women. Strange, we couldn't find anything positive to say about how the Taliban treated girls or woman. Thankfully, the parents of my troop supported my decision not to participate in that activity.

Out of that time came a new program for girls and young women = the American Heritage Girls. The "American Heritage Girls is a Christ-centered character development program dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and Country." Not surprisingly that program is growing. I'd be in it if my kids hadn't aged out.

I don't buy the cookies either nor do I send the yearly contribution the GS still asks for. Lisa
