The best part of Norristown is I don't live there, and only drive thru every 3 to 4 years. Last time i needed in IFTA sticker had to visit that dump hole.

I just received the letter today, I am excused from jury duty, a doctors note was sent in with my responce. I have allergies and that got me off the hook :) I know it's my civic duty, been there before and they didn't want me  now I don't want them, or the things people carry in on them, pet hair, dander, mold, bed bugs  etc., etc.

I just got a jury notice. It's labeled, "call in - two day".

I hate that. Oh well, I haven't been asked to jury duty in like 7 years.

I have no problem with knocking the police.
There's two sets of rules....and everybody knows it.
I will never EVER trust a cop!
Had one stalking my wife, and there was nothing we could do about it.
Welcome to the system.

Amen to that!!! My Dad was a court stenographer for I think Judge Salus for some 20 years there in the court house and my Mom was the Secretary for the Court Reporters office also in the same dump...

I have managed to not have to show up every time so far... First time filled out the questionnaire and claimed racist, second time claimed in favor of the criminal, last time forgot to fill it out until the last night before due, filled it out online and submitted in just the nick of time and I think at that point they already must have the selection filled up, so not needed again!!!

My wife just received a jury duty summons today. I said to her , do you know why ? We both have PA. pistol permits that we just renewed last December at the same time. I believe that put our name on the list. Wonder if they wanted us to come in pack'in, incase things get out of hand  Wonder if they use the names of people that sign up for welfare :|

The county sent me a letter back a few weeks ago demanding I provide proof of my income. They want last years tax forms, copies of my pay stubs and certain bills.

I tore the letter up and threw it in the trash. I'll call and hope they pick me for the 22nd. Then when they start asking me all their questions I'm going to get "racial".

Heck, they should have that info themselves when you file your local taxes. Can't they keep tabs on their own paperwork. Have a right to a trial by jury, shure, but what gives them the right to pick your life apart. Who is on trial here ????????????? I can see asking if you know the party, police, lawyers or have knowledge of the case, but what does your income have to do with anything.

I said the same thing when I opened the letter. I figure since I said it'd put a financial strain they feel they are "entitled" to know. Bunch of jerks. It's OK, when I call I'm hoping to not be picked and if I am I'm going to tell them I'm racist.

If you want to get out of jury duty, I'd suggest NOT doing what this genius did. :)

Well, I did not get picked. I don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing. I guess I could consider it a good thing since I had to take off work for it and since it's Jury Duty its considered an "excused day off" so I don't lose time.

I cannot think of a more insidious threat to the erosion of democracy than citizens who do not care

I can.
