Well folks, I have been a regular on the UPS delivery route lately. I received my Field Controls RC baro damper, Dwyer Mark II Model 25 manometer, chimney cleaning rods, and an assortment of HeatFab 22ga. welded seam single wall 6" stove pipe, and Take-off T with cleanout cap. $$
I finished the istallation of all this stuff today. Thanks to you guys, :discuss: I had at least a good Idea of what to do and why. I used a piece of steal brake line as suggested to connect the manometer plastic tubing. Will 10" be enough length to cool sufficiently to prevent the plastic tubing from melting?
It is real interesting to watch the manometer as I experimented with the baro. It was windy enogh today to get the draft up to .10 when I put a bag over the baro. to block all air intake. I fiddled with the baro. adjustment knob and found setting it at just under 4 on its own scale, gave me .04 on the manometer. The manometer is worth the price just for entertainment purposes (yes I do need to get a life ) lol.

I think it is silicone or something, I doubt it will melt. Besides, you can hold the brake line in your hand, it doesn't get hot. Well, the part on the outside of the stovepipe doesn't get hot, remember that when you pull it out.grizzly2 wrote:Will 10" be enough length to cool sufficiently to prevent the plastic tubing from melting?
