A buddy of mine from work called and had said they got shook up pretty darn hard. He's in Vienna, not far from Youngstown Air Force Reserve Base. I didn't recall feeling it up here. I'm figuring it's both Sam Andreas's and Busch's Fault !

I would do yourself a favor and get in your car on a straight-a-way and measure 1 3/4 mi, stop get out and see just how far 9000' is, NOT VERY FAR. I have done this and you would be amazed. And how do we know fresh water isn't that deep?

That's easy to answer...the salt brine goes back in the ground just exactly as it came out of the ground in the first place. It is collected from oil & gas wells during production. Some brine will come to the surface along with the desirable oil & gas. Ever wonder what all those round tanks are for you see around all the well heads as you travel through the rural areas are for?

And remember, it is being pumped some 9,000 feet below the surface. That's nearly 2 miles down. No fresh water down there. :!:

There's already brine water, gas and oil down there at 9000 feet and man didn't put it there..and besides, the State of Ohio has been okay with it... at least until before the 11 quakes.:)
I'm sure there will be agencies taking a good hard look at this due to the pattern that seems to have come about.:o

New York was OK with the Love Canal, asbestos was the wonder material, hey we can just pump this crap into the rivers & that will be good. All people & places have made mistakes in the past but not all have learned, I would be thinking we better investigate every possible scenario before something is done that can't be fixed. Hey Bob, if your oil & gas industry is so responsible why would they even need an exemption, they would never do any harm just to increase profits. I was driving out of Sam's Club near Niles when it happened & didn't feel anything so I guess it didn't happen, go ahead & shoot the messenger rather than give real input.

I thought you were referring to me when you said Sam Andreas, my fault. Where I live the nearest Sam's Club is Niles or Erie, much less traffic to Niles. I have said before that I live right on the line between Ohio & Pa. & I meant that.
