PV oil question

PV oil question

PostBy: baddawg On: Sun Jan 01, 2012 5:03 pm

Being the dumb azz that I am and unable to come up with the SWG superlube, the book said I could use Mobil1 0-5 full syn. oil. I get ready to oil the PV and look at the jug and I got 0-20 oil. Do I use it or wait and get 0-5 tomorrow?

Just oil it. Any oil is better than none. I doubt any store is going to carry 0-5wt. If it is a motor with bronze bushing for bearings, i would think a straight 30weight would be the ticket.

Right, can't find 0-5w oil. Where do you guys buy the SWG oil? Everyone in this town looks at me like I have three heads and I am not finding a web supply. Freetown Fred might understand if you have come down to "ITHACA" This town is not right, why do I stay?

Capecoaler, thanks for the location of the search box and yes I did know it was there as I have used it ALOT over the past year. Could be why I have such a low post count. I don't like asking questions and I can most of the time find it for myself. What I did ask was in my last post was, where were the guys that buy the SWG oil buying it from? Looking for input on a decent place to do business with on the internet for stove stuff when needed. I do not mind buying the oil instead of a motor. I was going to use the mobil 1 0-5 oil the book from LL said was ok to use, but was unable to find it in town. I also checked in two stove shops in town for the SWG oil and they did not have it. Yes, I found the patriot supply web site, thanks for your help.

Here is what I use on my motors.

http://www.zoomspoutoiler.com/

I oil them 2X's/yr. Once during my spring shutdown clean and one during my mid winter cleanout. Has a handy spout that pulls out and fits down in the holes to add a few drops without getting it all over.
