I have a Honeywell 1 stage digital thermostat.(with batteries) I set in on 70 and room temp says 70 but it keeps clicking on and off and calling for heat it seems to be very sensitive. I thought with a thermostat its a one degree difference between the setting and the temperature .Is there anything on the market that is not digital Thanks

What model is it? Most of them have a setting for the number of cycles per hour.

it's part of the features of a good design !
you can turn that feature off, it has nothing to do with the temperature, but that's the feature in Honywell, you really need to maintain a steady temperature !
it's called Cycle rate Per Hour or something like that, it's a variable number I CPH and it varies 1 to 12 .

Using a thermostat without this feature, will cause a bigger swing , depending on the recovery of your system.

digital t-stats can be more sensitive to drafts, like from the hole in the wall that has the wiring, or sunlight, lamps and cause cycling.

The old rounds ones had an adjustment called "anticipator" you set that according to your boiler or furnace type.
