Good morning! Ahhhh, the smell of fresh coffee is filling the room nicely. Don't be shy, come in, join us. We're going to fire up the griddle and have breakfast to order. You can ask for anyyy thing you want. It won't matter much however. Things are tight this week & you're getting pancakes with syrup. Oh, there is a wrinkled apple or two, help yourselves. The coffee house has borrowed a 40" Sony Vega TV until it sells. Looks like people may hang around the coffee house all day.

We got a little snow yesterday. The weatherman had his feathers all ruffled up for days before hand. "First significant snow this winter" he was spouting. He forgot about the 10 inches we had 2 weeks before Christmas? I swear I don't know why we don't hear of more weathermen committing suicide. LOL Now he's sayin' minus 7 for tonight. It'll probably rain.

I got my gifted power washer running. Last night I had the wife stop outside the garage & I washed the car before it went in. I plan on rinsing the road grime off her each time she comes home all nasty. ( ya, ya, the car, not her) I did try the soap & Wow, I guess I need to figure out how to turn the soap down. It lathered up the whole car in seconds & took too much to rinse. It is some kind of clean though!

I see we have a new LL boiler come on line.... excellent! Congrats.

Good morning! Fresh coffee and pancakes sounds great to me. I even have some Jimmy Dean sausage to bring to the table. Freddy, we must have the same weather service. Seems like they can give you a general idea, but if you want an accurate weather report...look out the window. Right now I can see the snow blowing and the spruce trees moving around...so my official report is "it's windy". Thermometer says it is about 9 degrees...headed below zero tonight.

Good deal on the pressure washer, next time cut the soap with water  .

Good Morning all,

No time for breakfast, thanks anyway - last of running in and around today - moving one child to a different house in Richmond, meeting with wedding planners and doing who knows what related to that. We only have 2 weeks to go.

We finally dropped below our average temperature of 29*, yep, we hit 26* over night. The Mark II is humming away and keeping the house at a toasty 75*.

Freddy, I feel your pain over the weathermen - DK drives his motorcycle to the District for work and was caught in the surprise snow we had last week. He always checks the weather before he leaves but they gave him the all clear so he took the bike. The cold won't stop him but the wet does. About 4pm I get this text from him, "those lying bastards." I knew exactly what he meant.

I scored the remaining coal for the year yesterday. I called my dealer for a whole pallet, it's cheaper by the pallet, but he only had 50 bags and wasn't getting any more. I asked if I took the whole 50 would he give me the pallet price. He said yes, reinforcing my belief you don't ask, you don't get. He needs the space for his spring and summer merchandize. That 50 will get me through the rest of the year and then I'll have some for next year. The great thing about this place is he allows me to split the order, even storing half for a couple of days, so I can pick it up with my F-150. That means I have no additional transportation costs. Yipeee! Nice people to work with.

Well, I guess I'd better get going. Busy, busy day, Take care, stay warm, Lisa

Wish I were closer, I got coffee but those pancakes sure would go good with it. I think the weather people rely on poor memories of the general watchers, they just point around that map & sound so professional & positive people start second guessing themselves. Either way right or wrong they still get their paycheck, don't get that in most other professions.Hope everyone is warm & comfy we have been getting lake effect snows all yesterday & till 4PM(if they are right),fast mover except it's moving in a circle instead of heading East.

Good morning all,
26* last night and wind slowed down.Glad we only see 0 degrees on a few days all winter.
It's really nice to have a heated garage, but right now my shop gets heated with oil,or should I say"it dosn't get heated with oil". Insulated pipes and modine heater is this summers project.
Just like being at home with mom,you can have anything you want thats on the table.
Your right Rob, get up and look out the window then plan your days work outside.
Going Doe hunting this afternoon.
Stay warm. Dennis

Good Morning,Gang ! It's snowing hard just above me,and I'm grateful as heck ! Wind can be an amazing thing ! 21* aint to shabby either. Makes it alot easier to take my time and enjoy another breakfast here at Freddy's. There's a long line of squalls coming in from Lake Erie, and I'd be thrilled if they stayed North for a change. Have a great day! :)

Just a regular trip to see how the twins were doing...
Ultrasound checkup says everything looks good...
And it is a mixed pair...

Good Morning Freddie and everyone!!
It is around 10* here this morning with the wind chill figured in, lovely day to stay inside. Getting a late start on the day as I was up late watching "The Shield" on DVD. That show is like Crack to me I can't get enough!! Got to coach my girl's basketball team today at 1:00. Going up against a tough team without my biggest girl. She is going to see Disney on Ice. She told me she would rather be at the game. That is dedication. Well, I should at least try and accomplish something here this morning but thought I would stop in and say hi! Have a good weekend everyone. NWB

CC I hope I'm not stealing your thunder, great to see all these new coal apprentices coming into the world!

Good morning all my coal burning friends. I'd like to announce the birth of my daughter Leah and give you all a fine cigar. Leah actually came into the world at 10:09 PM on 1/3, and your cigar is long overdue. The hospital experience was a wild ride, we recently learned my wife developed cholestasis, she actually demanded test be done for it after reading online in response to her itching symptoms. We received 1 test result back before x-mas that was negative, then the thurs before new years we get another 1 that says positive, and they want her induced in 1 week (1/5, Leah wasn't due till 1/25). The doctors office says if you feel less than 4 baby movements over the weekend then you need to go to t the ER because the baby could be poisoned, so were were on pins and needles all through the long weekend and that mon was a holiday. Finally tues morning they put my wife on the monitor's, and there are some dips in baby's heart rate, so off we go from the doctors to the labor and delivery ward at the hopital, back on the monitors she goes. One of the resident docs comes in and I ask what is a bad liver Bile acid level, she says above 40, my wife is in the mid 30's, then she proceeds to tell us the problem with cholestasis is it can poison the baby suddenly without warning and there is no black and white comfort level of bile acid in the blood to predict this. So I say well this is BS, she;s scheduled to be induced in 2 days so just do it today. They agree and give my wife the meds, finally after about 8 hrs and minimal dilation, the doc says C-section due to continued dips in baby's heart rate. Leah is born at 10:09 PM, then after wards my wife's BP is spiking 187/98, the docs say they may have to treat with mag sulfate, a pretty nasty treatment, so she pleads with them to wait and finally her pressures start coming back down. Then on wed we get a call from her doc's office, we made a mistake, we don't want you to come in 1/5 to be induced, we want you to come in today, 1/4. MY Wife says I had my baby yesterday, she hears oh *censored* in the background, they say congrats and that's it.

Leah was 6-lb 8oz, 18.5 in long. First grandchild to both of our parents, and first great granddaughter to my grandparents (they really were hoping girl) we didn't find out early, I got to announce the Sex in the operating room. The experience was pretty stressful, but it sure is an awesome feeling. We've all been home now for sightly more than a week, mom is recovering well and baby is feeding nicely.

I Sure am glad I have cheap heat + hot water to satisfy all the ladies in the house!

FANTASTIC, what a cute, may you and yours stay healthy and warm.....sometimes god reminds the doctors, " who's in charge." My wife had numerous back surgery's and one went through the front, basically removed her uterus to put a stainless steel latter against her spine. Doc's said "you will never have children, too much scare tissue and non functioning tubes." DOOOOOEEE- look at my avatar, gutta 4 yr. old. toothy
