Amen! I am glad cold temps are finally here, my poor stove has been on idle since Nov! It's hard for me to keep a proper draft with outside temps in the 50's.

Time to make sure all the buckets are full. I noticed that Monday we (Shipshewana, Indiana) are supposed to be 6 degress colder than Barrow, Alaska! -16 for a low. Ouch. Maybe I should move north! Stay warm friends.

WOW with the blizzard and cold sub temps, how are all your coal stoves doing. Our DS 1500 is running fantastic and even cooked a pot of chilli on it yesterday!

Stay warm!

Chili! That's fun! I used to do baked means on mine. We dipped down to 67 in the living room one morning. I thought that was pretty good considering the outdoor temps, but I was running the stove top hot at about 525 F. Fortunately I had a mud room with a dozen full buckets of coal and I never had to take a hike to my outdoor coal bin. Where are do you live in Indiana? We are going to put an addition on the house and may get a DS circulator to heat the space. We used to live in Arthur, Illinois and nearly all the Amish there use a DS machine circulator, nice looking stoves.
