1928 Gas pump restoration

Thought you guys might find this pretty cool.

My buddy just finished building a garage for his 1950 Ford pickup.
Now he wants to deck it out with lots of old stuff.
And what's a garage without a vintage gas pump sittin' out front.
He picked up this bucket of rust for $200.00. He's already been offered 2 grand for it just the way it is.

Nice!! I had 50's WAYNE pump, nothing fancy, all original, they are HEAVY with all the pumps, etc.. in them. I gave it away, it was given to me, I didn't want to move it and had no place at the time to store it. Would like to find another one.

Yea...I guess this particular pump is very rare.
He was told that it can be worth between 8- 12 thousand dollars, depending on the condition.

Now the hunt is on for an old crank style air pump. Remember those? Back when air was free.

Probably has some gas left in it Yes they are neat, glad to see the pictures. I occasionally see the show american restorations, they do gas pumps for others.

The ones with the GLASS on the top for the gas to fill up are VERY pricey. I have a couple of the globes, if I ever find one to restore.

Believe it or not, that pump was in service down in Brocton, Ma. until 1976!
At least that's what the previous owner said. Who knows. But I wouldn't doubt it.
Ahhh, they don't build things the way they used to.

Are those original globes you have?
