Well thanks Steve. I am having a bear of a time finding anything on this stove.Im thinking of going to Port Jervis, where it was made by Swinton &co.,to try and see if any ads were in their newspaper when this stove came out.

Hi Jim, thanks for the good photos. What is the measurement from the floor to the top of the flue exit on the back of the stove? In other words if you didn't use any elbow, and just stuck a piece of flue pipe horizontally in the rear exit, how many inches would the top of the pipe be from the floor ??

It's amazing to me to see the similarities and minor differences between the different base burners showing up on the forum.

Greg, That's for sure. It seems like there were specific designs that must have worked quite well because they were copied with very little change by several companies.

Ok went to Port Jervis and went into library microfiche. After about 2 hours found this ad in 1896 paper, mind you the stove is marked 1897.so i took a shot looking at 1896 papers and found it.I need the part or parts marked in yellow .It may have been cast as one piece to go around 3 sides of stove and it mates into arches. If anyone has the part or a complete stove i would need to cast a part from it.Or if anyone has any idea how this could be made please let me know./(Mold etc)Ok thanks for now Jim

Ok i picked up the second stove yesterday.im writing this on pain killers(got a broken rib).Dog hit me hard.Anyway heres the story.I was missing the part seen in earlier pix so i went crazy searching for a stove to match to maybe cast the part from the owners of a similar stove.Well i searched the internet for a Quick time #5 stove. On abouth the 6th page of google search i fopund a hit for a stove that had been for sale in NJ .Ad was on a list called JAL, i think, but it was dated last October 2011.There was no phone or email but it did say in ad that stove had been in a restaurant called the Sunset Inn In Clifton NJ.So ilooked up a number for the restaurant.I called the number but the restaurant had changed hands.the manager wasnt in but i should call back.I wound up calling 4 times ( I was highly motivated).I asked if they had a number for the previuos onwers. They said they couldnt give me the guys number but they would call him and tell him about my interest. So Fred the previus owner calls me< I ask him if he sold the stove. He says no, its in a storage locker,.I ask him if i could see it he says yes.I say ill be there tomorrow.ITs about 70 miles away ,I go and lo and behold its there and its the same stove.I take my time looking at it talking with him but i dont offer any money.Finallyafter awhile he says "Lokk i wont to get this out of the locker make me an offer" so i think and make him an modest offer and he says yes.I didnt have the cash or a truck with me so i said ill give you a deposit and come back ,He say no just tell him when and i could pay him when i pick it up.I tell him ill pick it up within 3 weeks as i have to arrange for help.So me and a freind of my sons went with his little trailer yesterday and picked it up.We tipped the main body onto the low trailer on mats and it went fairly easily.I took the part i was desperatly searching for and put it in a specail place in the car.Wasnt gonna let anything happen to it.
We got it home and set it up on its base.It is in slightly worse shape than the first one i got,but nothing major.I am Very happy to find it as i think it might be one of the last ones left.I will post pix later in the week when i can. Thanks for tht interest I just want to say i am very lucky and perserverance has won the day.
