traderfjp, thanks for the pics but I'm looking for close ups of the coal burning. FYI, you can attach up to 5 images to one post. Once you select the file click the upload button. Once it uploads you can select another file.

No problem. I was just thinking how it looks like a nuclear winter inside my stove. Have a great gobble, gobble.

I probably should have done this to begin with, this is where I'm trying to go with it. I used the one image provided by WNY but I would like it to be a little wider with more blue flames. Buck coal in a Franco Belge or similar stove would probably be perfect because you get the small size of coal and the very wide width.

Is there a way to delete my prior posts. I want to play with some banners for the contest.

I'll contribute. Not an easy thing to photograph with basic stuff.

Once posted I won't delete it as that can break the continuity of the thread. If someone replies to your post and I delete your post it looks quite odd. Posts can be edited for about 24 hours. After that it's permanent. There are few exceptions such as if you posted something that is private information that shouldn't have been posted in the first place, a inline image from another site has changed to something bad, old links going to places they shouldn't etc.

While on the topic if anyone comes across any of the above let me know so I can edit it.

Now THAT is cool! I've been to Centralia on the way home from a trip to New Jersey a few years ago, my ever-patient wife tagging along. But, when we got there, even she was mildly impressed with the whole spectacle.

Do you have any more details on this fire? How/when did it start, scope/size of the fire, etc. Any more pictures of maybe a wider, landscape type view?
