Anyone know where to buy a deeper coal hod shovel so I won't drop my pea size coal when I fill my hand fired keystoker insert? Rko

What I've seen some do is take a 5 gallon bucket and cut a hole in the top. You attach some PVC so it's like a hose and then you can just pour it into the hopper/firebox.

Thanks for all your info. I want to think some more on the subject. I really wanted a shovel for my tool rack. It will make my wife a little happier. May be I'll design one and go to a shop and have it made. If anyone has any other ideas I'll be watching. Thanks from Ohio rko

I got one of these 85 oz scoops recently, after seeing it suggested here. A full scoop holds approx 5 lbs of nut coal. I'm pleased with it.

If you are looking for something to fill the stove from a hod or bucket, thisis what I use, it holds about 4 1/2 lbs of coal and is cheap. available from any feed store

I got one of these feed scoops at Tractor Supply. It works much better than the plastic scoops and won't melt!

Oops,......see previous post! Lol!

I like using a round nose camp shovel. The shovel goes into the coal easily and you can shovel out almost all of the coal in the hod.
