Here is a video from my "glory days"...first race with that combination. I have no idea how I didn't red light, when I tried to load the converter the brakes wouldn't hold it and it crept ahead a few inches. Oh well, make short work of the other guy.

Here is the first unscheduled repair of the day. On my way to the basement I flicked on the stairwell lights and was greeted with flickering lights and a buzzing sound from the switch. The switch broke and apparently the contacts inside started arcing. The switch was from the pre-Romex era, so I'm guessing it was 50-60 years old.

Smitty, It's like Deja' Vu all over again. I have participated in many of those "short rides!" Whenever I go off road anymore, I always carry the GPS loaded with trail maps, street maps, topo maps, whatever I can find. Not that I'm worried about being lost, but that if we need help, I know where the f... we are and how to get the hell out of there.

I use a Garmin GPSMap 60CSx with Red Pine Mapping software. You can also get GPS mapping on smartphones.

I have also experienced the stuff in the back getting detsroyed syndrome.

Here is a pic of my sled on the way to the summit of Coburn Mountain in Maine 3 years ago. Right before we left PA I had the oil injector cable replaced so I wanted to make sure that I didn't have issues with it not working so I carried a full quart of 2 cycle oil in the back as a spare.........

HA! Too funny! I used to do that too, but I'd place the extra qt in a ziplock bag. I had a 600 XCR back in the days.... Got it to 105mph indicated, before it felt like it wanted to get airborn. :shh: :smoke:

Thats the new style. Our house still has many push-button switches from the '20s. Most still work. There are also some 90 yr old original twist-style switches working just fine. One of these days I'll bring them up to code.

Chris,

IT WAS IN A ZIPLOC !!!!! I think the tools beat the crap out of the bottle on the way up.

That year the trail was a little rough. :D The groomer hadn't been to the top yet. Me and my brother were the only ones to summit. The others turned around. Panty waists !!!!!
