I dump it in the creek... I let mother nature take care of it.

Disposal of coal ash

there are several more threads here about it also.
My neighbor and I use it for our driveways in the winter. But this winter I have a big ole pile of it to get used.

I've got a protected trout stream bordering the back of my property, I don't know about that dumping it in the creek idea--even if it wasn't protected.????

I put it on my gravel driveway, I have in the past put it in a dried up hand dug well.

I get some clinkers and they just worked great to get my Coal hauling pickup unstuck.
Usualy I make a pile all winter and then fill potholes in the summer, but I have clinckers to go with the fines.

take it into woods behind house and dump it, spring time i will spread it out a bit, throw some lime on it, because ash is acidic.

I eat it. Makes a good oatmeal type substance when mixed with some hot water. I put some raisins and brown sugar on it. It's delicious. :)

I used to dump it in the yard where I put fallen branches. But I soon discovered that the pile was going to be too large. So now I put it in a galvanized trash can outside and my son transfers it to contractors bags and I take them to the local MUA so they can dump it in the landfill.

I take it to the township garage where they have a huge pile of ash that gets mixed with salt and spread on the township roads when it gives ice or snow. When it snows I reserve enough for my driveway first.

Road fill for mud holes, it's just a really coarse sand. So it packs down pretty well.. I may level out my pile and pour another pad on top. and buy another couple of TT loads.. you can never have too much coal.. unless you are selling the place to some tree-huggy, mentally deficient, 'greeny' person.

And I'm sure I could move or sell my pile quite quickly to some of my friends and neighbors if I needed to.

I put it back in the bags it came in and take it to the local transfer station. The unburned coal will finally get burned that way!!

I let it cool overnight then bag it. I just put it out for the trashman who desn't care as long as I don't burn his truck up. ;)
