Good luck to you Greg, sounds like all should come out well. My father went through what sounds like very similar treatment about two years ago. He is doing fine today.

Have you considered wearing a kilt ????
Just trying to put a smile on your face !!!
I'm not sure if that would be safe with the new 'Puppy' on the premisis,, I don't think I want his cold nose checking out what's under the Kilt
Thanks for the laugh..

My prayers go out to you Greg! It seems that you have thought this through and made the best of the available treatment choices.

All the best Greg, we all face similar problems after going by 50. I have already had a go around with the doctors and surgeons without a cancer problem. Glad you tracked it so closely and warned others.

Greg,
Good luck with your treatment plan. Quite a few members of my Lions Club have had similar cancer treatments with good results. You are younger and have a positive attitude. Look forward to restoring many more antique cars.
Many of the tragic stories we all hear about illness are because of personal inattention to our own health. Let's face it we all think it's not going to happen to me. But it does and understand your body and what it is signaling to you is important. Those of you that have seen many of my postings know I'm a big fan of education and self education in particular. There are two college level educational DVDs sold by the Teaching Company that are excellent. I own both and after watching them and further reading I have a much better understanding of the human body. It's incredibly complex and fascinating.
The two courses are:
(1) "The Human Body: How We Fail, How We Heal" & (2) "Lifelong Health: Achieving Optimum Well-Being at Any Age". Both are by Professor Anthony A. Goodman, M.D., Cornell Medical College,Montana State University. He is a surgeon as talks about how he has personally seen, touched or analyzed all the body parts and systems he lectures about.
Read outlines of the courses here:

List prices for the courses are very expensive. But each of the courses goes on sale at least once a year. Sign up on their web site and you will get the many discount offers. The two courses are excellent and I highly recommend then. NOW is the time to start understanding your body. Just do it, it may save your life.

Not much to say that hasn't already been said. My dad chose a very similar treatment several years ago and there has been no sign of cancer since. I'm confident you'll have the same results especially since you caught it early. Take care, Lisa

Best wishes for a full recovery, Greg.
My dad died of metastatic prostate cancer in 1991, by the time it was discovered it had already spread outside of the prostate gland. As you know there are no symptoms in the early stages. Your advantage is that you have been proactive about the PSA test and the cancer is confined. Which reminds me that I'm past due for that test as well.
I'm reading more and more about successful treatments for prostate cancer, I feel confident that you'll come out of this just fine.

I know two guys that had the same diagnosis and chose the same treatment both with very good results. I'm sure you will do the same. I'm not a big "prayer" but I'll send lots of positive thoughts your way.

I always wonder why things like this happen to good people who are productive members of society ...... while the leaches of society in America's inner cities seem to just keep multiplying like amoebas.
Good looking out for yourself Greg. We like having you around here.

My fathers PSA shot up to like 12 at a checkup and in short, they found cancer cells in his prostate. They elected to remove his entire prostate. The Doctor basically explained it like his prostate was like an apple and the cancer cells were in the core and didnt break out. The doctor said he could of probably lived another 8 to 10 years with no treatment but being that my father is in great shape for 63 they all agreed to remove the prostate. After they removed it, sure enough the doctor was right on. The prostate looked great on the outside but when they opened it up there was cancer cells. He recovered from surgery quickly and now 4 years ago he is totally fine and cancer free
