Yes, I can barely see it thru the trees but you can see the planets shining brightly near the waxing cressent. Really clear night brought on by the high winds. I like this kind of stuff. Thanks - I would have missed it otherwise :)

Thanks for the heads up, we had a very clear night and I was able to show the kid!!

Mars was very bright on the opposite side of the sky, too.

I saw that last night & was wondering which was which. One was directly below the moon, the other to the left while facing west - both were very bright. I know the brighter one would be Venus ... so if I had to pick I'd say the one below the moon was brighter. Cool stuff! 8-)

I'll try and remember that tonight, but not sure if my camera is up to the task - I think the bright moon will drown out the 2 planets. We'll see ....

Smitty..I looked into that cuz I was wondering too..Last night the arrangement was, the one closest to the moon and brighter was Venus, and up higher in the sky was Jupiter, making the triangle..Tonight, Venus will be in the same spot, but Jupiter will be lower than the other two, making the bottom point of the triangle

Just before dawn this morning, MARS was in the western sky. Saturn was in the SW sky somewhat higher above the horizon. Google Sky is a great App on the Droid.
